Everything others have said on the location is accurate . . . side-by-side noise , , , density, , . 'paved road' condition, and for me the 5-th wheeler that arrived on my last day/night and ran a large (construction site style) generator 7AM to 11PM and they were several hundred yards away . . .
My stop was on weekdays, would NOT stop here on weekends unless you are also a loud machine motor-head-type (wink)
Consumer Cellular was < 1 bar

As others have said, before the first section of Shea Road is severely potholed but there is an alternate route to avoid them. Come in on.Mohave Road go across railroad tracks and turn right on Mutahar St.
This way you will avoid that bad section

This is a beautiful and clean dispersed camping area. The road coming in has a few potholes, but nothing serious. There are literally hundreds of spots here. However, during our stay there were many dozens of off-road vehicles. It is a great area for them and there are a few races that use this area as well. Just be forewarned that depending on the time of year you may run into this and generators running all night long.
Having said that, I would gladly return here at a different time of the year, we were here right after Christmas, as it is a great spot and close to Parker for groceries, laundry, etc. My advice for finding a good spot is go farther down the road as in my opinion the sites improve the farther you go. We had zero T-Mobile signal, but great Starlink speeds.

We were still able to stream TV but I had a couple issues with a webinar.

We went a few weeks after the big off-road race out here and there was a TON of open space to park. We saw a few others while there, but mostly felt alone. The ground where we stayed was pretty hard packed and most of the other sites seemed the same. Beautiful spot and would definitely go again!

Once you get passed the first mile or so of pot filled road you reach nice paved road in. We stayed in a large gravel area right before mile marker 2. GREAT cell coverage for ATT and Verions as the towers are right at the top of the mountain. If you go further in, we lost all coverage. Large gravel area with multiple fire rings. Some areas are little sandy so just scope the area out. Plenty of space for multiple bigs including our motorhome. This is an area with off road trails for ATV's and jeep so do expect some road and trail noise especially on the weekend but it not that bad. This area was well kept with little trash.

This is a big SXS area, so if you want a Zen experience, this might not be for you demanding on the day. There's plenty of places to tuck in and be by yourself or find a different spot to join in with a bunch of friends.

We enjoyed the nice level spot and it was a beautiful place but quite noisy from the side by sides at all hours, especially the weekend. There was a decent amount of trash and people seemed to want to crowd a bit even though there was lots of room.

Got here a week after the Parker off-road races. The area was nearly empty with about 5 campers over 50 acres or more. Clean, easy to find and get to campsites. Don't get turned off by the rough part of Shea road... it does smooth out later. We only went in about 3.5 miles on Shea, not all the way to the BLM welcome sign.

We pulled in here on Jan 10th. Everything seemed fine until we hit the BLM land, after 4 miles of bumpy, rutted pavement, when the signs appeared. Much of Shea Road is closed to camping for the Parker 250 race on the 11th and 12th and again at the beginning of February for the Parker 425 race. No big deal but there were no signs at the highway and camping is severely limited. We turned around, drove back to the highway and found another area nearby. The wash area where you can get cell signal was completely closed, the race goes right through there, and the area further back only had camping along the ravine. The north side of Shea road was closed.
Just a warning. A bit annoying there are no signs on the highway to help campers avoid the four miles of bad road. I'm sure the races are scheduled at roughly the same time each year for planning purposes. Otherwise, looked like a great spot except for the spotty cell signal and the terrible road from the highway to the BLM boundary.
