Can you get a 5th wheel in this campground? Is there overhead clearance?

In addition to what most everyone else said, I loved the fact that there was actual grass and not a bunch of rocks and dirt to pitch a tent on, and that was in the Equestrian part. Also loved that there was a Publix grocery store literally across the street.

We spent 6 days here and it was great. The campground is gated and locked and has about 8 spots which encompasses a smallish circle drive with fire pits and picnic tables. It stayed busy but there was plenty of room for all to stretch out and still have privacy. It could get tricky getting a spot with enough sun to feed your solar pa... more
We spent 6 days here and it was great. The campground is gated and locked and has about 8 spots which encompasses a smallish circle drive with fire pits and picnic tables. It stayed busy but there was plenty of room for all to stretch out and still have privacy. It could get tricky getting a spot with enough sun to feed your solar panel as a lot of the sites are well shaded. Nice walking trails around and an easy walk to grocery and restaurant just across the highway (at light with crosswalk included!). There is no potable water available and trash is packed out.

Made a reservation and accessed the campground to assess suitability for my 2019 Cougar Fifth Wheel. There are approximately six (6) level areas that will accommodate a big rig. Made a reservation and accessed the campground to assess suitability for my 2019 Cougar Fifth Wheel. There are approximately six (6) level areas that will accommodate a big rig. However, the single lane access road is too tight on both overhead clearance and roadside overgrowth for my liking. If you don't mind scratching your big rig, Serenova is possible but just too tight maneuvering for me. The one lane access road would present difficulty for two vehicles to pass. The concrete pit toilet was serviceable.

This was our first night staying in our van anywhere, so we went with a nearby free site. It is easy to access as it’s right across the street from a Publix and the gate is just on the right where you’ll have to enter your registration code to unlock the padlock. This was our first night staying in our van anywhere, so we went with a nearby free site. It is easy to access as it’s right across the street from a Publix and the gate is just on the right where you’ll have to enter your registration code to unlock the padlock. There were probably 5-6 other sites being used when we were there. The toilet was about what you’d expect with no running water. Bring your own TP. It’s a free, primitive site and was perfect for what we were looking for. I would absolutely stay here again. We grabbed a spot that was perfect to hang our hammocks, close to the toilet (we only used it once), and near the hiking trails.

Serenova Tract is part of Southwest Florida Water Management District. Must have a reservation through SWFMD web site. Located in an absolutely beautiful oak hammock. Primitive (tent only) and Equestrian (horse trailers and/or RV/trailers) area. Camping is free boondocking/dry camping. Sites are well spaced with fire rings and picnic tables. It’s okay to gather firewood from the ground. Quiet during the week, party place on the weekend but people tend to keep it under control. Rangers patrol and make people leave if they’ve overstayed or are too loud. Pit toilet that is about as nasty as a pit toilet would normally be. BYO TP. Beautiful hiking trails and lakes for fishing. Deer, armadillos, owls, and watch out for snakes. This was our first SWFMD experience and we can’t wait to go back to this location in a couple weeks. Grocery and gas station close by. Go slooooow on the road and watch for potholes. This place is LOVELY. Be conscientious and leave no trace, put out your fire when you leave. Non-potable water is available. The fire pits can be full of other people’s garbage - take out what you bring in.

Easy to find spot with nearby supermarket and access to some great trails, what’s not to like? Arrived on a Monday so it was quiet and did get busier on the Friday. Stayed in the primitive area without anyone else around, you can ride a trail over to the Jay B Starkey wilderness park which is about 24 miles round trip or hike the trail... more

Stayed in the primitive area without anyone else around, you can ride a trail over to the Jay B Starkey wilderness park which is about 24 miles round trip or hike the trails around the campground. There is road hum from the highway but it’s not like you’re next to it like a lot of RV camps are.

We camped here Christmas Eve weekend. It was quiet and peaceful. Some people left some trash, which we cleaned up. It has a vault toilet, while convenient, was yucky. We camped here Christmas Eve weekend. It was quiet and peaceful. Some people left some trash, which we cleaned up. It has a vault toilet, while convenient, was yucky. Definitely boondocking at its finest. The road in is hard packed and you can probably get a smaller camper back here. Great hiking and a couple of fishing holes. We had the whole place to ourselves. Camping is by online reservation and there is a locked gate for campers. Drive right up to your site.

FYI, Pasco County Commissioners are trying to build a road through the Preserve which will cut off access to the JB Starkey Preserve. Please contact Pasco County to help stop this.
