This place is perfect but I was bummed that you could only stay max. 4 nights. It’s clean. It’s quiet. And it’s very pretty. The campsites were large and there was plenty of room for our dogs to run.

Two other class As came in after us, plus there were fifth wheels and campers, tenters and a van. No services. Several hiking paths but didn't explore much as it was hunting season and I didn't have any orange attire - my dog and I kept to the main road for walks. Great in November - no bugs!

I was there in early april. It's about an hour from Charleston and an hour and a half from Myrtle beach. Many trails to hike or ride a bike. Lots of alligators birds and other creatures. Also about half an hour away from motor Cycle trails. It's dry camping so if you didn't bring it you won't have it. There were fire pits and picnic bench but the bugs kept me from doing anything outside.

When I stayed there was only two other campsites being used. This is a little off the beaten path but well worth it. Clean campsites and great trails. Extremely buggy.

Stayed here in mid November and thought it was fantastic. I had one of the end sites on the edge of the loop and it was HUGE. This is a small FREE campground in a beautiful reserve which lies inside the Francis Marion National Forest. The campground is total dry camping, meaning there is no bathrooms, water or garbage for people. You have to be totally self-contained OR make sure you dispose of your waste lawfully. There are about 8 sites that are fairly well spaced apart, at First Come, First Serve, and there were 3 left when we arrived. There were several beautiful trails in the area, a boardwalk over the marsh, and the possibility of seeing quite a few different animals in the area.
Prior to visiting this campground, I inquited about a reservation. The response was amazing! Arlivia not only explained the campground fees, ($0), but also let me know there were no permits required. She continued to tell me about the ammenities in the area and explained the hiking trips in the park. She ended with telling me the boardwalk trail was spectacular!
Upon arriving, I was a bit nervous because of the low trees and our 12' 8" RV height. What was I nervous about, no problem.. Just go slow and weave between the trees. :-) We found there were about 8 sites, and most were taken. We thankfully found that site #2 was available, and that was actually more level than the others we've seen, so we were VERY happy!
The area is absolutely beautiful and quiet, and the sites were well spaced well apart which gave some nice privacy.
Verizon cell service was 2 bars signal, 30mb download and 1.6mb upload. AT&T was 2 bar signal, and 16mb download and 2.8mb upload. We were able to stream some Youtbe channels with no problem. The weather radio found a few stations, but they were weak but still usable.
I would highly recommend this campground for anything who loves the outdoors and maybe wants to do some hiking in the area. Rest assured that the campground IS a loop, and the actual entrance to the campground is 33.1537140, -79.3679565.

Set up my pop up in #4. Large, beautiful private sites. Gorgeous trails within walking distance. Great opportunity to see wildlife. Lots of mosquitoes, but not miserably so. Short drive to the beach.

Stayed here 3 nights, 3-4 other campers during our stay. The big trees and moss are so lovely. There is no toilet or water, so just need to dig a hole in the outskirts of camp. About 5 sites run along the outside, these are the best as you have an edge to go into for toilet. The inner circle also has about 5 sites, these remained empty during our stay, they were nice though more open, but just means you got to walk a little further to find cover for a pee or poop. We did not see the camp host, though we saw one drive by. There are several houses near the campground, like a 3 minute walk, where I imagine people live.
We really enjoyed the hiking here, plenty of shade or sun for solar, we don't have a generator but some RVs did and ran it in the daytime, didn't bother us too much. I imagine it had been raining a lot the week before we arrived as we struggled to find dry wood. We burned a lot of wet wood the first night, and it was nice but smokey and a lot of work to keep going, a bit too cold the not have a fire. Going back I would buy a bundle of wood and some lighter fluid in case the wood is wet again. This was February and when the rest of the US was freezing, so perhaps it's not usually so cold this time of year. In the daytime with the sun it was amazing, but chilly enough ugh after the sun went down to need warm clothes and a fire to stay warm. So thankful such a place exists! It was very clean and camping neighbors were nice.
Oh we had just 1-2 bars with AT&T and Sprint didnt work for us. Could get things done, perhaps just slightly slower than normal.

Take your time especially as you get closer to the campground and branches are hanging down. It's a 1.5 lane wide packed sand road to the campsite. Camped here the weekend before Christmas and there were only three other groups. Lots of folks showed up for day hikes on the weekend and the day hike parking lot is right next to the campground.
loved the short hikes. Also nice level roads for mountain biking or horseback riding.
