Great spot in the middle of Marshalltown. We decided on 30 amp hookups only as we are set contained. Parked in the grass and very level. Nice walking/bike paths.

We've been coming here several years now when our son had baseball tournaments. There are limited full hookups but several electric only with places to fill water. This campground is in the corner of a very large city park that has several playgrounds, bike trails, tennis and basketball courts, disc golf etc. The shower house is always clean and has tremendous water pressure. Also the shower house is locked with the code only available to campers.

There's not a ton to say about this campground. It's a large circular drive in one corner of the city park with power pedestals put up at random intervals and picnic tables scattered around. The sites themselves are not marked in any other way... you just pull in near the power and plug in. Each power pedestal can host two RVs, so you might have a very close neighbor if the campground were to fill up, but I doubt that is an issue except maybe on busy summer weekends. My price was for one of the sites on the outside of the ring. On the inside there are gravel full hook-ups for $20, but with the same "two rigs per site" stipulation. I saw some very cozy class As. For $15 you get your power, a wifi code (not worth trying), and a code to the showers (I did not use but peeked in and they were prison-esque). The saving grace of this campground is the phenomenal city park in which it is located. There are walking paths all through the park that ultimately lead to a city-wide recreation trail. There's a disc golf course, if you are the sort of person who plays disc golf, lots of very nice playgrounds, and a pay-per-use dog park. The park gets a little crowded in the evening right after work, but is otherwise fairly empty and pleasant. It did seem like the neighborhood outside the park was a little rough, but inside was perfectly nice and I never felt unsafe. The one downside to the park is that it is immaculately landscaped, which means there are constantly mowers going during the day... fine if you are out doing other things during the day, not fine if you are trying to take a conference call in your trailer.
Also worth noting, the campground host was possibly the nicest person ever. Very friendly, helpful, and eager to please. But not in a weird way.
