We arrived on Friday afternoon heading into a 4-day holiday weekend. We expected the campground to fill-up as the weekend approached but it never did. Of the 18 sites, the most filled were 3.
The park is very clean and quiet. There is a highway nearby but traffic is typically minimal. Presently, there is only an outhouse as a toilet, at least three centrally located water spigots, several garbage cans throughout the campground, a boat ramp to the Iowa River, a mowed walking path by the river, a playground, a pavilion with picnic tables, and well-groomed gravel roads. We’ve been told that restrooms will be built, and it appears that more sites and other features are being added.
All camp sites are back-in and each site has a RV power pedestal (presumably all sites) with 20/30/50 amp outlets, picnic table, fire-pit, level gravel pads, and are partially shaded. We have Verizon cellular receiving 4-bars of 5G and 5-bars of 4G. 4G speed tests yielded 8-10 Mbps down and 2-3 Mbps up. We were able to fit our 34' fifth-wheel and truck (detached with a couple of feet to spare) only when the RV overhung the grass and the wheels were taken to the end of the gravel pad .
While there is no dump station in the campground, there is a dump station and water in Albion only 4 minutes away (2.2mi) at GPS coordinates: 42.110360, -92.993923. The dump station is at the west end of W Marshall Street on the north side of the street, but there isn’t enough room to turn-around to get the grey/black waste valves close. Instead it may be easier go 2 blocks further north, turn west onto W George street for 2 blocks, turn south onto N Wells Street, and lastly turn east onto W Marshall Street. (See the uploaded satellite pictures). I understand that there is another dump station in nearby Marshalltown at the east end of Woodland Street.
