I am considering camping there in mid-September. Who has any experience with vacancies during that time?

Arrived to find the park full. And it looks like the vast majority of the folks are here long term. There is an obvious shortage of RV parks in Fargo so you may want to have a plan B if you are just passing through.

The sites are level with nice gravel and cement
They should hold open several sites for overnight travelers

I have camped here many times. When I was there last time we had no problem with this place at all. They allow pets problem is if you have a lot of money your dog can be off leash. That makes it hard for the people that follow the rules. My dog only barked in the vehicle when the campground guy flagged me down. But the people with the dog nextdoor to me would not stop barking. the owner had a very big dog in his golf cart thing. As well as he gave me a stack of papers with the rules and the reason I left was one of the rules proved that basically the manger has the right to make sure rules are being followed but he only had no issues with the dog next to me running around and I know for a fact there was a very large dog at the trailer in front of me that was barking and acting like it wanted to eat me staying there. For $35 a night the wifi does not work I hate parking on concrete but I had no choice but to park on concrete. The manger is very unique. Looks like long term guests get special treatment. All the pull thru spots are coned off not sure why. I use to love this place anytime I was in Fargo I would stay there but I will never stay there again. Also the power was off more then on and no discount on not having power. This place is going downhill and I am not sure why. We moved 44 miles out to stay at a better place that's far quieter and way cheaper.

Wish it could be open later in the year but it's North Dakota so is gets to cold for water so they find it easier to shut down. I have been here many times and some times. Rates are great for the location. You have a dumpster and a shower house if needed. There is no laundry mat on site but it's a big city so you can run to any one in town. All people staying there a quiet when I have been there and very respectful. I am having a hard time recalling the price but I think it was like $38 to $40 a night.

Several people add me predicted they'll will be a shooting here eventually cops are here usually I know average of once a week maybe once every other week. Cameras but they don't do any good cuz nobody gets charged with any crimes anyway probably the only time I've ever heard of anybody getting kicked out being a drunken loud party. Okay but I'd stay on the gravel sites for one night same price a night but less full timers which are the problemn.

New part on south row is very nice, FHU and spacious sites. If your rig is small and can park on the pad you are golden, but, if you have to extent into the approach as with a class a or 5er, you will sink out of sight. They used granite chips for the parking area/approach and they do NOT compact. Bring several long 2 by 12's to support your jacks!
This park is mostly seasonal construction workers and over the past couple years I have noted more and more non repairable trailers, homemade put togethers, and even a couple car campers in the park. There are several sites that are very overcrowded with vehicles this year. A neighboring trailer was involved in a domestic disturbance and the guy laid his girlfriend out flat. He did not banish a gun but stated she should remember he has one. The park manager did nothing but laugh it off. NONE of the 3 vehicles at this site have registration displayed, including the trailer, but again management ignores it. On two occasions this summer, squad cars responded to another camper two door down. More domestic stuff, and finally the woman got hauled off.
During the week the park is quiet, but on weekends the fairgrounds have auto races and other activities. It is rattle your windows loud. Great fireworks on the 4th for sure though, spectacular view !
Wifi works outside, maybe. Definitely not available inside your rig. I have not had success with my laptop, even within line of sight of the antenna, but my phone will connect when I am outside my rig. Maintenance staff seem to be in need of training. This season I lost a windshield on the class A and my neighbor lost the windshield on his toad due to careless lawn mowing. Both were repaired at no cost to us. I understand we were not the only casualties that day for glass damage. Last week my neighbors sewer hose was weed wacked and needed replacement. His month was up and he decided to go to another community and another park.
There are small towns nearby with facilities if i decide to return to the area next year.
