Beautiful lakeside campsites. Clean, well organized sites with a nice table on a level gravel pad plus a place to park the tow vehicle. Site had electricity which was vital for a hot Georgia day. Site 42 was nearly level. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful.
Note the main gates are closed at 10:30, so no late arrivals. If you go out and miss re-entry, you need to park outside the gate and walk in.
Apple Maps does not give accurate directions to the campground entrance. Stay on N Main St, past the boat launch labeled Old Hwy 41 #1. Apple otherwise takes you into a residential neighborhood to a non-existent second entrance. Stay on N Main and you’ll see it on the right after the boat launch.

Site 22 is a long way backing in but site level and nice view. Paved and gravel around picnic table and fire ring. It’s a little confusing to find the campground and also the sites. A nice detailed map would be great.

We’ve stayed at several of the COE campgrounds on Lake Allatoona. This one isn’t our favorite, but works for a quick weekend getaway. There are 50 sites and looks like all have some kind of access to the lake. Depending on which site you get your neighbors could be very close, or you’ll have plenty of room without worrying about kids running through your site. Either way our experience has been that the campground has been fairly quiet during our stay. Most sites have plenty of shade and there are lots of trees. There is a boat ramp, but no beach. Signage to individual sites could be much better. Cell service was great with Verizon and we picked up only 7 OTA channels. No WiFi, which is the case with most COE campgrounds.

This campground is a great overnight spot, close to the highway and inexpensive. The spots are roomy with asphalt with a concrete picnic table. Our 35' trailer and truck fit fine. Great lake view. One caveat, I-75 bridge is very close so the highway noise is loud, but if you're just looking for a place to park for the night it's fine. There are a few pull through spots but you have to reserve them pretty far ahead of your trip.
Google Maps isn't great at getting you there. Recommend using Exit 283 - much easier access.

If you have a lake view this is a good option. But, our site is very narrow and very uneven. There is a steep drop to the side of our unit, so there is not much room to maneuver. It’s an okay site for one night, but likely would choose something else for a longer visit.

It was not so much that you couldn't sleep, but it was always there. This was the only negative to this campground. It felt very woodsy and it was beautiful. Paved trail and site, 50 AMP electric and water hookup. No sewer though but there is a dump station.
