The site spots are all concrete and ours was pretty level. I visited the bath house down the road and it was good, clean. It could use a few minor updates/repairs but overall it was fine. We used our RV showers though as it was chilly this past week here. We used our T Mobile Home Internet Router 5g for web and it was fine, great speeds and always connected.

Staff Was Friendly Enough. Kind Of Sticklers On Check In. Made Us Circle Around To Park To Check In Even Though No On Else Around. Sorry To Hear The COE Is Handing The Campgrounds Over To The County. This Is Happening Way Too Much. Sad. Could use some TLC.

Nice big sites, good water pressure and beautiful views of the lake. The cellular internet was great with Verizon and TMobile about 120-150 mbs. Big rig friendly, some sites near water could be challenging with big rigs as sites can be unlevel. We camped here with a 40 ft 5th wheel. Some train noise in the distance, but not bothersome.

Camp host was super rude. I made a mistake with my reservation and instead of trying to help, he griped at me and acted like it was intentional. He was really a jerk! I will never come back here again!

We stayed in site #9 which was a very large back inside with a nice patio, picnic table, and railing. I expected it to be a little bit busier being that it was the middle of July, but it got very quiet and peaceful at night. Lots of deer walking through the vacant spaces which was nice to see. We took our 1.5 year old to the beaches, which were nice and sandy and accessible for her. The only thing I wish was different was that the bath houses had AC. Hard to clean up with a shower just to immediately start sweating again because it’s 95° outside and there is no AC. Also, it appears that there used to be laundry facilities, but that they no longer exist which is a bummer for us because we are full-time.

This is a typical COE site. Sites are well spaced. This is off season so not many folks here. Chose a site carefully. Many with steep back downs and NARROW pads, many due to the decking required since there are on a steep hill. Then many driveways have broken or damaged edges of the road resulting in 12-18 inch drop offs. Your backing and leveling skills need to be top shelf!!! Nice place but be slow and careful. Lastly look up at the site or while walking. Tons of broken, hanging branches looking to fall on your rig or your head!!! Forest Service calls them “ widow makers”. OTA tv is good and visible and att phones were great. T-Mobile is our hotspot that was full bars. We would come back.

Had a blast first camping trip of the 2022 season. We loved it! It was cold (one of the coldest weekends in ga) but we got to see snow on this trip! (even though it was light dust) It was a quiet peaceful stay definitely would camp here again!

“11 AM CHECKOUT, BUT STILL A 4 PM CHECKIN?”
noted 11/1/2023
McKinney Campground now has a 11 AM checkout. You still cant check in until 4 pm! Many ppl are mad about this. 5 hours to clean the sites? When we were there recently, there was pinestraw all over the sites access roads. They arent cleaning up at all! A few minutes until 11, there were about 16 campers waiting to use the dump station! STAY AWAY UNLESS THEY CHANGE THE TIMES!
