We were glad to have the escort to our campsite #40. While beautiful and private, #40 was 6.5” off level and tricky to navigate in/out. This park accommodated a lot of big rigs, but novice drivers might be challenged with back-in sites. The showers/laundry/bathhouse was excellent, and the office sold firewood and ice. Friendly people. There was live music at the campground on the week we left- sorry to miss that! Great GNP homebase!

The laundry and showers were clean and well maintained. We did use the showers a few times, just to have more room to move around. Only about 8-9 miles from Glacier national park, which we went into 3-4 times. We also went kayaking, using a local company and it was beautiful, and alit if fun!
We traveled over to Whitefish for a farmer’s market, oh so wonderful, and bought some yummy huckleberry things.
We will definitely stay again!1

If you are looking for the 'resort' type of campground with manicured lawns, pool, playground, sites lined up like cordwood, this is not you site. Sites are nestled among the trees, are gravel and not perfectly level. We have no trouble navigating our motorhome throughout the campground. You are about 15 minutes away from West Glacier/Apgar Village. We spent a month here and will be back again next year. We camped at Mountain Meadow RV Park and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Our site, #30, was spacious and had no neighbors, so it felt like our own mountain retreat. Other sites are closer to each other, and we saw some of the bigger rigs struggling to get in a spot or navigate the park. We loved watching the sunset from the swings by the trout pond. Convenient to both Glacier and nearby towns, it was a great base. Hook ups were spaced just right for our travel trailer. I used the laundry, which was reasonably priced and very nice. 100% recommend.

Try the huckleberry pie from one of the restaurants nearby. You will not be disappointed. Now the not so great. The sites (at least ours #48) was upper tight getting into and out of due to trees. Once in the site was very unlevel from side to side (requiring 3 legos just to get close to level) and then front to back was super off too (hitch was almost on the ground as the site had a huge dip and back end of trailer was easily 4’ in the air). Had to park on a hill. The roads in the park are extremely steep and are gravel. Wifi is almost nonexistent (warned when checking in) and cell was poor at best. Would I stay again. Yes but not in this site.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this park. The showers are probably the best showers I’ve ever had (including my own home). Clean and hot and amazing pressure. Worth the money just for that. Oh, one more note: get here before dark or you’ll never find your site. The layout is confusing…. I saw some people driving around about 11 looking for their site and I couldn’t even help them, I could barely find mine lol

The bathrooms and showers are fantastic! Sites are good with power, water, picnic table, and fire ring. It is popular but got a spot their last week open. The Wi-Fi never worked for us but had two bars LTE with T-Mobile.

“Canceled reservation without informing us!”
noted 9/14/2021
Came here with great expectations for our Glacier park vacation since it was close to West entrance and looked great for camping. When we arrived to our shock they said they couldn’t find our reservation for two nights. After making us wait for almost an hour (not necessarily to help us) they dig up and found that our reservation was cancelled a month ago ! We never made any cancellation call. I am 200% sure on this. If we cancelled it a month why would we show up on the day of the reservation? They kept wrongly insisting that we canceled it and refused to accommodate us in any for the mix up they caused. For them customers n customer service don’t matter. It’s all about money n business.
Imagine you are on your dream vacation and come into relax and crash onto bed after a busy day of hiking and being outside in the sun and you are told at 8 pm when most other places are closed, that your reservation was canceled. I wish there were strongest consumer protection laws to address such unruly hoteliers.
At the end we made our own reservation far away paying hefty last minute prices since we had no other option.
