“Beautiful, but obnoxious locals”

Reviewed May 18, 2019

Overall Rating

The road is a bit bumpy, but otherwise super accessible. I rolled in around 9 and there were about 5 cars from locals who were partying. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by this cause you do you, but one guy became belligerent and a fight broke out. Not exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to fall asleep to. “Mountain lake to ourselves!”

Reviewed Oct 27, 2015

Overall Rating

Abbot Bay boat launch offers individual spaces for tents and truck campers up a dirt road. For the lucky one (or several if you bring friends) you can park right by the lake! We arrived mid-day Friday, not long after the previous people left. There is an Rv space a bit back from the water for one Rv, but we chose to park on the rock... more
