Loved this state park, we had a very private site with beautiful forest, wildflowers and fireflies to look at. Site 15. Lodge was gorgeous and the views from driving around were great. Did lots of hikes. Tons of ticks in the summer though so be careful.

We spent 4 nights here during Spring Break in 2018. Sites are spacious and well laid out. The pads are level asphalt with gravel around the picnic table and fire pit. The restrooms were clean and well kept and there were a couple of trails that left from the campground. The overlooks on the Mossback Ridge and Benefield Loop trails were ... more

No, it's not the Rockies but Mount Magazine is the highest point in Arkansas and worth the trip. Some switchbacks on the road up the mountain but take your time and even the big rigs shouldn't have any problems.

Really nice, no pull throughs, but still easy access to back in, with long deep sites for RV’s. Very clean with several hiking trails in the park, and a very nice lodge on the south rim of the mountain. We visited in October and the park was full.

There are 18 sites they all have a full hookup, tent area, lantern hook, fire ring, picnic table and grill. The lodge was gorgeous and dog friendly on the patio. The restaurant served good food, not fancy but well prepared. You did have to fill out a form for private membership to get a cocktail, but it was easy and didn't cost. Bring all your booze as Paris only sells local wine and has limited beer selection. No liquor stores in Paris. There was a Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Sonic, and Taco Bell. Havana didn't have any stores other than a small gas station. Lots of hiking trails and the Cameron Bluff overlook was beautiful. All the park and lodge employees seemed very nice and friendly. AT&T cell phone coverage was almost non-existent until you drove up to the lodge.

The view from here is worth the middle of nowhere drive to this park, especially given the fact its in Arkansas and one would not expect much from Arkansas. But one would be wrong. Arkansas is awesome.
Sites were not ritzy or level. Bathrooms were clean but meh. The lodge was grand and completely surprising- stake out a rocking chair on the massive stone veranda and watch the sun go down from the top of the mountain.
Mountain biking, hiking, hang gliding, bird watching, geocaching... something for everyone. There is no nearby town to speak of so stock up before coming.
