Need to stop here for the night for fear of deer strike. Turned out to be super great. We had a delicious breakfast in the morning here. Yes, road noise is muted here = much nicer/better overnight sleep versus the rest stop to the south. Enjoy this spot, be respectful of this wonderful host, and increase the respect by giving them some business.

Google claims that Mohawk Restaurant is permanently closed but we have eaten and stayed in Mohawk's parking area twice. It is a large, unpaved area behind the restaurant with plenty of room to turn big rigs around. The restaurant is surprisingly good for diner fare. Salad greens and bread on our sandwiches were fresh and fried fish was piping hot. We didn't try breakfast there but both dinner experiences were satisfying and gentle on our budget (about 15USD per dinner)
Road noise was muted and we enjoyed walking behind the restaurant along the railroad tracks and on the separated bike/pedestrian path that runs perpendicular to Hwy 97.
No hook-ups, of course.
We were level with a couple of blocks. We did not unhitch for either of our overnight stays.
Suzanne and Paul would stay here again
