Nice spacious sites, continual upgrading of campsites going on. Campground was built be the COE and is managed by Jackson County. Always have a great time when we stay here!

Other reviews cover it well. Only thing I would add is to take your own soap into the bathrooms AND main bathhouse. None was provided.
Great staff, location, & fast t-mobile signal at our site

We stayed here a couple nights in mid-April to visit relatives in the area. It's very convenient for that, and fairly easy to get to although you need to watch the GPS. Getting there is pretty straightforward, getting out not so much. We are very large with our HDT and 45' fifth wheel - 68' connected - so we scouted our exit with just the truck, and that was a really good use of our time! The campground itself is gorgeous - lots of grass in the middle and trees around the outer edges. We chose a "basic" site, no hookups, and it was perfect for us. It was right next to a bathroom, showers were in a building closer to the entrance. Everything was clean. As a previous reviewer has said, the pull-thrus are more V-shaped, and we find sometimes with the tighter ones it's easier to back into them, and put the truck at the rear after disconnecting, which is what we did here. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here while visiting family in the KC area. This is one of few campgrounds in the KC metro area. The campground is separate from other parts of the park and is not "on" the lake. The sites are solid gravel and well-spaced with lots of green space between sites and in the center. There is some shade - we were here in the spring and the leaves were not out yet.
There is a gate to limit access to the campground. The bathroom building was clean. There are onsite attendants all day.

Nothing fancy here, just a really good electric only spot with plenty of room to roam. Surrounded by nature and not squeezed in. It was a nice retreat outside the city.

Longview offers three types of sites, FHU, electric only (some 30 only, some 50), and basic, and we stayed in a 50 amp electric-only pull-through site. There are water spigots throughout the park with a 15 minute limit for fill-ups if needed. The campground offers some privacy, with more in some campsites and less in others within a very pretty wooded setting. Entrance is gated (guests are provided with a gate code), and the park hosts were very nice and helpful. It's also easy to access KC, and the surrounding area including just about every service and restaurant you could want or need. While there were plenty of campers, the park stayed relatively quiet, and though there was some trash around when we arrived, we never noticed it again. The dump station is also easily accessed on the way out of the park.
The main (and maybe only) drawback is that the sites are mostly very un-level and while many are long enough for a big rig, they then require a lot of adjusting and leveling. Our pull-through site required backing in because the U was more like a V (fine for a smaller rig), and we had to use all of our leveling blocks plus rocks under the stairs. The FHU section looked a little better, and if we were to stay here again, we would likely choose one of the back-in sites instead since the the pull-throughs were all too sharply angled.
T-Mobile was a little erratic, but fine overall.

Both pull-through and back-in spaces available, with level gravel pads and basic, electric only or full hook-ups. We camped mid-week in early September and there were few other campers, so it was very quiet, although there was a low hum of highway noise to the south. Thirty minutes from downtown KSMO - very convenient for sightseeing and great BBQ. A new development of shops/gas station is conveniently close to the park entrance.
