Great overnight stay, peaceful and quiet. We stayed on a Thursday night and only one other camper was there. Water and electric hookups. Bathhouse on site but it was closed and locked. Just drop $22 in the drop box and pull a ticket for you window. Highly recommended! I would definitely stay again. Not very far from the interstate.

Nice quiet stop, easy in and out. $22 in the drop box. Water and electric, small spots close to the lake, beautiful. On a Monday night we were the only ones in the park. Bathroom and shower, fair.

Easy to find and lovely view of the lake. A bargain - $22 for power and water. Separate sewer dump. Cash only. The ranger seemed friendly enough in the evening, but challenged us the next morning. He didn’t remember us paying the day before! I think he’s not menacing but has memory issues.

As most of the other reviews mentioned, I had this place to myself on a Sunday night. The cost was $17/night for no hookups and $22/night with water and electric. Cash only. If this place were crowded, the campsites would be wayy too close together. Given that it wasn’t, this didn’t present itself as an issue during my stay. Small rig friendly, wouldn’t recommend for big rigs. All unpaved but I didn’t have any issues in my prius making it across the day after a heavy rain. I walked it first just to be sure. Lots of birds and pretty sunrises. Pretty buggy even end of November. Quiet except for the road noise and neighbors dogs barking: they seem to live outside. The ranger, an older black man, is a no go. He peered into my rig through the windows not long after my arrival, not identifying himself verbally or wearing state issued clothing or a marked vehicle. At this point I had no idea who he was. The next morning he walked to my site wearing a marked shirt but still not identifying himself verbally and accused me of staying longer than I had. I told him that I wasn’t even in the state the morning before when he claimed I’d arrived. Asking me questions he already knew the answer to like how much I paid and with what currency. He once again snooped around my rig and solar panels. This is a good spot and I would stop in again, with the hope that I didn’t encounter this man. Other solo female travelers may want to take this into consideration before staying here.

We stopped here for the night on our way down to Texas from Ohio. We ended up getting in way later then anticipated because we blew a tire 12 miles away on the highway and had some difficulties, but we made it! We paid at the honor box but it was dark and there were 2 other campers there and we couldn't tell where the sites really were. We seen tire tracks and turned around there and stayed for the night. Woke up and realized we could have plugged in our camper for the night but oh well. Could not tell how to access the camping spot until we passed it and then had to back up on the road after you pull out after paying it will be on the right side directly after the building. It was a nice spot chilly night and morning in mid November. Would stay again. Try to arrive before dark but the sites are in the back and to the left!

Beautiful! Quiet! Planned 1 night stayed for 2. Sunday night there were 4 rigs all spread out. Monday night only 2 rigs remained. I liked the grass. The traffic on the road was minimal and the train in distance didn’t seem too regular.

The park is really pretty and incredibly well maintained i it also has a small lake and long dock to fish from. We stayed here on a Saturday night in May and we were the ONLY campers here. I have no idea why this place is not more full. It has some bad reviews, mostly regarding the fact that the sites are not paved but are all grass. That is true, but the area is very level and the grass is densely covered - if it rained hard, we would have no problems pulling our 5k lb trailer out. Decent wifi with Verizon. Reservations are not accepted, but when you get here there are envelops and a drop box for payment. I can almost guarantee this park will not be full. We were very happy with Tom Bailey for a stop-over location. Thank you Mississippi! Highly recommend.

Beautiful, open area by the lake. Not another soul in sight. Arrived late and left early. The fog around the lake with rising sun at sunrise made for such a peaceful, etherial sight! Very quiet and peaceful here. Easy access to hookups. Clear, easy instructions for payment on the sign and at the office. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed one night while traveling west. We arrived late and left our payment in the honor box at the ranger office. There was only two other trailers which looked like they are always there. We picked a spot close to the lake so we would have a great view in the morning. It has rained recently so there was some mud but we found a dry area. The sites have 20/30 amp connections and water. There are fire pits, grills and tables near by but we did not use. The morning brought a beautiful sunrise and view of the lake. My family including our dogs loved walking near the lake. This place might be busy on the weekends but the night we stayed it was like we had the place to ourselves.

Some train noise and a lightly traveled 2-lane road just behind the camp sites. Gravel/dirt parking sites. That was the problem, it poured down rain all night and we woke up in the middle of a mud puddle. All of the sites sat in 3-4 inches of water; none were dry. There was no way to disconnect hookups without wading through muddy water. So, if rain isn’t forecast this is a nice little place to spend the night off I-20. Pass it by if rain is in the forecast.
