“Convenient to Lake Placid and Adirondack Rail Trail”

Overall Rating

Small RV parking lot that generates income to support the Volunteer Fire Department. The sites are FHU, but there are no typical campground amenities. Reservations are exclusively online or by phone, Cash or check, and response is typical of volunteer run activities. Some sites have gravel, but most are grass. Several sites are plenty long enough for our 45’ motorhome.

The big advantage is the proximity to Lake Placid. We enjoyed touring several of the venues, the ski jumping was our favorite. The Skyride experience took us via gondola to the base of the 128 meter tower, we rode the elevator and stood adjacent to the platform as athletes flew down the jump.

The Adirondack Rail Trail is adjacent to the rv parking area, and is a beautiful ride to nearby Saranac Lake and beyond. We would definitely stay here again, the location convenience and price more than makeup for the lack of amenities.
