National Parks in New York

Gateway National Recreation Area is a National Park Area with two campgrounds falling within New York’s state boundaries. One of these urban campgrounds, the Floyd Bennett Field Campground, offers RV camping.

The Floyd Bennett Field campground in Brooklyn, New York, permits RV camping at 12 designated RV sites. There are no hook-ups for your RV, but amenities include showers, picnic tables, and fire rings. There are 32 additional campsites set aside for tent camping. You can enjoy activities like archery, kayaking, hiking, biking, and fishing. Stays are limited to 14 days.

"Wouldn’t Stay Unless Group Camping"

The lake front is nice but the campground is not peaceful or quiet. Parking on grass, lots of groups. Very packed in. Stay closer to the ranger station as the sites are further apart. Come and get smoked out by your neighbour’s fire.

Mike, the proprietor, is extremely nice. Looks like an old logging camp with all sorts junk equipment, but it is well maintained and quite pretty. Great shade and tons of greenery and privacy. "Nice with quirks"

It was a nice one night stop. The site we were on was fairly level but not overly large. Our trailer fit fine but not sure if there would have been room for our screen house too. "Absolutely beautiful! "

Quiet and relaxing after a long trip from Maine. We had an amazing time here last summer. Planned ahead for our trip to Texas. We camped by tent here. plenty of space for children to play. the Picturesque views were beautiful! Planning a trip for this year here with our granddaughter! See ya in a few weeks
