Cascade Acres

We stayed here because no other campsites were available in the area over the Columbus Day weekend. The bathroom was disgusting, and when we reported that the toilets in both the men's and women's room were broken and filled with waste, the owner scoffed and made no attempt to fix it over the next two days. The showers barely spit water, and hot water was nonexistent. We had wanted to stay in the Adirondacks longer, but were not willing to pay $45 a night for such a poorly run facility. The only thing going for this place is its location in the heart of the High Peaks and very near Lake Placid. If you do stay here, be sure to bring an adapter. They insisted it was a 30 amp box, but the plug was 20 amps.
