We recently stayed one night at Kershaw Ryan state park. What a gem! Clean, quiet beautiful little park. The helpful friendly park ranger did an outstanding job of keeping the area pristine and inviting. Will definitely return.

The actual park a short way up the road and was beautifully manicured- lovely park.
The stars at night were stunning. The showers were HOT! Lots of hiking. GREAT PLACE!

We came from Vegas with TMobile. We lost all service about 12 miles north of the 15 and never once got it back. The camp site offers Viasat internet. Free 30 minutes and then different packages. $8 for unlimited data 24 hours. Not fast at all but enough to check messages and emails and look at instagram if you are patient. My tests got me between 3Mbps and 10Mbps.

Partial hook ups was great, sadly the lights on the posts were on all night… too bright, had to cover ours. We were till Friday on Memorial Day weekend. We were going to stay one more night but……
First night was excellent… Then the neighbors moved in, crowded into 3 sites, trailers, tents, vehicles of all types showed up. Then the smoking, drinking, pot smoking, large fires and VERY LOUD VOICES… even at 3 AM they didn’t respect any of the rules. The ranger was overwhelmed and likely feared a confrontation. People like this ruin campgrounds. We did report them, but we left. Hope to not run into this again.

Clean, new park hookups that are well maintained. Perfect for one night’s stay with three hiking trails and a hidden park-like garden lawn area.
Note that the trails are a significant distance from the campground. We selected our space, then drove our small class A to the trail and lawn area. Park your rig in the parking area just below the upper restrooms (not the tiny one at the restrooms) if you need to bring it to the upper section.
Almost no connectivity. The paid WiFi is awful and our at&t offered one to two minimally useless bars.
Would absolutely stay again. Super peaceful, quiet, fun hikes, diverse setting, and wish we had brought horseshoes for the nice pits!

We stayed 2 nights the first weekend in April 2021(The day of the rate hike). We are not from Nevada so the fee was higher. We paid $20.00 per night for camping, plus $10.00 per night for the electric hook up. Water is nearby, so we had to fill containers, and pour it into our trailer. We had to drain our grey tank into a container and haul it to the dump station at the park entrance. We were able to dump the black tank on the way out. (Our trailer is small and the tanks are not very big).
The campsites are gravel, clearly marked, and mostly level. They do have a few paved accessible camp sites. The parking was very wide, so easy to get trailer in and out. The stars are really beautiful at night. The campground was very clean with no litter. It was quite at night. Restrooms are a flush toilet, but you need to bring your own soap. Showers are $0.25 for 4 minutes, I didn't use them, so I don't know how well they work. There is a covered picnic table at each campsite, but because none of the trees had any leaves, the shaded area was very small. We used the fire ring. They have wood onsite, but they request $3.00 for each arm load.
The weather was perfect in the mornings and the evenings, but the middle of the day was still very hot and we ran our air conditioner during the middle of the day. Once the sun sets behind the mountain, it was very nice. My kids enjoyed climbing up the mountainside in the campground.
Everything was brown. Sparse leaves on the trees and bushes. We came because the pictures make it look so green and inviting. We did the hikes, and it was very dry foliage. (Take hats, water, and sunscreen). My kids played volleyball (we brought our own ball), but the ball kept ending up in the thorny bushes on the hill. There are picnic tables scattered throughout the park area, and we did find a shady place to have lunch near the playground. The playground needs to be updated. Bring your own horse shores if you want to play with those. The pool is closed until further notice. The ranger told us they were adding new biking trails, but no signs are posted yet. I had taken a photo of the map, but we hiked through spots that were not listed, so it was a little confusing.
We had zero service with our T-mobile phones, and in town, we were only able to get one call to go through. Our Chevrolet vehicle has an AT&T data connection, and we had some service with it, but it was not very reliable. Not much phone service getting to the park itself. Internet service is available in the park for a fee.

There are natural springs and the flora is gorgeous!!! The short overlook trail is absolutely stunning. Our trip was in Fall so the colors were amazing. We camped for only one night but had a good visit and plan to return since this is a very nice place. This is a small first come, first serve campground with electric hookups, restrooms, and more. Each site has a picnic table, BBQ, and fire pit. The picnic table has shade and there are trees around the campground. There are showers but I didn't use them to verify they work well or are warm. There are water spouts, for use but not to hookup. We got the last spot in the campground, it fills up quickly and people came after us who had to leave to find another place. Lesson: arrive early in the day probably between 10am-1pm will get you a spot. The campground is at the park entrance and is 0.8 miles from the main park area where the playground, wading pool, grassy areas, and most trail heads are. That main area is also where you will find maps and the stamp to use on your Nevada state parks passport. When we came the wading pool was empty. But I guess during summer it's a nice refreshing place for children to play. There are two spots to play horse shoes and one for volleyball. The playground equipment is old but usable. Cellular service is better up at the main park area than at the campground but the campground does offer wifi for a fee. Just outside the state park is a grazing area with cows and just past that is the railroad - you may hear the train from your campsite. We liked that but I'm sure some people wouldn't. Animals in the area we saw: turkey, rabbits, kangaroo rats, frogs, and various butterflies. The camping price is $15 per night without hookups, $25 with hookups OR if you get the state park all access pass then camping is free and you just pay $10 for the hookups if you use them. Read up on the Nevada State Park website for more details.

Camping is done in the front of the park, the staff was amazing and went above and beyond. 3/4 of a mile in was a fantastic area with play grounds, a spring water filled wading pool, many beautiful flowers and trees. Hiking trails with scenic overlooks. Currently trail maps are out of date because they are currently updating and expanding their trails. There are also horse shoe rings and a volleyball net, but you need to bring your own ball and horse shoes.

The campground is a gravel loop with parallel and back in sites. The campsite we used was a back in site and was very level. We were the only campers other than the camp host. The toilet and shower facilites were very clean. The campsites have no hookups, but there is water available as well as a dump station. The town of Caliente has fuel and grociers available. This campground sits in a canyon with great views and seems protected from winds.

The grounds at the day use area are beautiful. The swimming pond looks so inviting. There are wonderful green grass lawns, shade trees and an area set up for an outdoor wedding venue. An outdoor kitchen type area with BBQ and sinks for cleanup, a koi pond and all of the water is fed by a local spring, the playground is very near.
The only reason I left after 1 night was the little or no cell service, Verizon non at all, AT&T 1-3 bars 4G (no lte). It is close enough to Caliente to have great service but isn't very convenient.
Otherwise it's a wonderful place. I had purchased the Nevada All Access Pass ($200) good for one year from purchase. I have solar so can park at any Nevada state park for $0 when I don't use any utilities, utilities are $10 a day when used. The dump and water are also included in the pass.
No pictures because what you have are great.
4 star rating only because of lack of cell service which is important to mostly everyone.
