So impressed with this BLM campground.. spotless clean, space between sites. Pull thrus with a nice table and ramada..water not on yet in april, but had electric for those chilly evening temps. On a beautiful lake. Clean restrooms. Lots of wildlife and coyote sing you to sleep. Great for the night and price too. Thanks BLM.

“Amazing BLM campground”

Joe T Fallini Campground is a BLM campground just off Hwy 93 about 4 miles north of MacKay Idaho. It's on MacKay Reservoir and is a popular location for boaters and fishermen. There is a boat launch and day use/picnic area in addition to the campsites. To the east the beautiful Lost River Range rises majestically above the campground.

There are 26 spacious paved RV sites with power and water in two loops. The sites are capable of handling fairly large rigs. There's a mix of pull-throughs and back-in sites. All have a picnic table and fire ring and grills, some have small ramadas. Four of the RV sites are double sites. There are also 4 designated tent only sites each with a picnic table, fire pit/grill and ramada.

Most sites have a water view and all have a mountain view. There's no shade. The area is mostly scrub desert with just a few planted trees. A short paved trail runs between the loops with informative signs describing the area and history.

The RV sites don't have sewer hookups. There is a dump station which is $12 for non-campers and $5 for campers. The vault toilets are among the cleanest I've ever seen thanks to the local BLM staff and campground host.

Our Verizon phones showed 1-2 bars LTE and easily supported our hotspot to get online. Our booster was not needed.

The campground is just below the highway but traffic noise is minimal. Hwy 93 is very quiet at night. There's very little light pollution in the area so star viewing is excellent. You may have to contend with some afternoon thundershowersin summer.

The campground was full each night but fairly quiet during the week. The activity and noise levels picked up during the weekend. We were here to view the 2017 eclipse and felt very fortunate to have snagged a site a this beautiful campground. No reservations here, it's strictly first-come first-served.
