“Nice Small Camping Area At The Base Of The Mackay Dam Next To The River”

Overall Rating
This is a small camping area at the base of the Mackay Dam. There’s an entrance sign for it from the main highway, the road is gravel and in good condition.
There are some open areas you could park a trailer and camp on at the beginning of the road, but the main nice campsites are at the very base of the dam near the parking lot.
There is a tent campsite a little way down the river. The reason I call it a tent campsite is because the road down to it is very steep and not something I would take my own trailer down.
If you go do the parking lot the biggest, big rig friendly campsite is right before the vault toilet to your right. There is also a loop and a smaller campsite to the left before the toilet.
The info sign is in the small parking lot near the dam.
