“Lots of Open Space in the Cache National Forest”

Overall Rating

We boondocked at the campground in the Cache National Forest near Richmond, Utah, There are 2 vault toilets and 2 official sites and by official sites I mean the NFS installed fire rings.

We were able to have a campfire here because it is on NFS land even though the whole state of Utah is under fire restrictions.

We camped near a stream and had plenty of space between ourselves and our neighbors. The are some great views of the nighttime stars as there is not much light pollution from the surrounding communities.

In some of the campsites, especially closer to the water than we were, there are lots of hornets/wasps or whatever they are. Literally, thousands of them! They were not aggressive at all but unnerving nonetheless. We stayed 2 nights and it was fine but I don't think we will be back. There are many more places to explore in Utah.
