“Quiet”

Reviewed May 14, 2018

Overall Rating

We camped here two months ago, and again this past weekend. What a difference! In March, it was packed wall to wall. I found it hard to get a spot where I wouldn't be disturbing others.

This past weekend, we were the ONLY ONES HERE! It was lovely. My daughter and granddaughter were able to fly kites.

“Easy to get to”

Reviewed Mar 10, 2018

Free for up to 14 days, just check in with the camp host. Sites are fairly level. Despite there being a few dozen groups here, my spot felt private and was quiet. I didn’t have to go very far back to avoid hearing any of the cars on the 95. You can see the lights on highway 10 at night but there is still really great star gazing. Only... more

“Simple Boondocking”

Reviewed Feb 27, 2018

Overall Rating

Nice enough boondocking spot. Mostly level ground with loose fist-sized rocks. Easy to navigate in our 65 foot rig. When you arrive, you will check-in with the host who will issue you a permit to stick on your window. 14 day max stay.

Nice views. Clear skies, bright stars.
A bit crowded but quiet. I would camp here again. Lots of pre made fire rock rings.

Sprint service was not great .

Cindy and I stayed at Hi Jolly BLM near Quartzsite, Arizona for 14 days in February 2018. We parked toward the back and close to the edge of parking sites quite near the tree line. Since Hi Jolly is right off Highway 95 about 3 miles north of Quartzsite, we parked toward the back to be far as possible from the road noise and fewer c... more

“GREAT place!”

Camped here two nights...best thing about it was no city lights and fabulous night sky viewing. Could see the Milky Way! Dirt, rocks, some gravel. Easy to find a spot to tuck in with little highway noise. Can't wait to go back.

Really a great place to camp.
We tent camped here with only one issue. A huge Rattle Snake came to visit us one night and trapped us in our tent.
It was really exciting!!!
That sucker must of been 8' long.
Say hi to Alex the camp Host. He's a really nice guy.

Reviewed Feb 13, 2017

Hi Jolly is about 3 miles north of Quartzsite off hiway 95. It is a BLM free 14 day camping area. Great cell reception and most of the network channels on digital TV, although a bit touchy. Great view of the sky for satelite. See my video at: https://youtu.be/cLGWoegPRaE

We dry camped here 2 days on our way back north. We parked next to the wash by some trees and had a nice stay. Recommend going back in a ways from the hi-way to avoid some road noise. Everyone we met there was very nice and helpful when we needed help with our dysfunctional awning. Thank you Erik from Canada for the use of your ladder.

“Two visits where free is good”

Reviewed Oct 29, 2014

We stopped at Hi Jolly on two separate trips. Our first visit was on a trip back from Alumafiesta 2014 in Tucson. This, ironically, was the trip where we first met the 'Aluminariums' at Snyder Hill. After visiting my mother in Sun City West we headed to Quartzsite for a couple of nights. Here is a blog post: http://www.casarodant... more
