Nice dispersed camp. About 8 sites. We arrived Tuesday around 10:30 am and had no problem finding a spot. Town of Boulder about 5 miles away. Nice dump station at the Town Pump gas station. Nice new store. No potable water there though. A local told us to go the fairgrounds right out if town off Mt 69. Good food and beer at Dave’s bar ... more

Lovely free campsite. Gravel and level ish (had worse at paid campsites).
No facilities (except pit loo).
It’s next to the I15 but a fairly quiet interstate (on the Friday night we stayed) and very quiet at night.
Was full with last campers pulling in around 10pm.

Pretty level, all grass, some shady spots, clean vault toilets and right on the river. Highway noise is pretty close but not bad. Close to ATV and hiking trails. Great for a night or two. Only 10-12 spots.

Rangers passed through & checking on things regularly. I stayed here en route to Glacier National Park and enjoyed my stay.
On the negative side, the site is located close to I15 so there is some highway noise however there’s also a nice creek / stream between the site and highway muffling things somewhat. I took a space backing to I15 and the creek and was not bothered by highway traffic noise. Additionally (and I found this rather odd), each day there were gun shots for about 15 minutes….sounded like a single “shooter” but they were certainly close enough to be heard from the campground. Again, the shooting only lasted about 15 minutes but it did occur every day of my stay. While tempted, I chose NOT to investigate the shooting.
All that said, I would stay here again.

Spotty service with ATT and Verizon, not sufficient for work/zoom calls even with WeBoost up. Would have stayed longer if it weren’t for the signal issues. Was still snowing during our stay in mid May and several spots suitable for big rigs were available

(Stayed here 8/17/21): Another great FREE spot right off the highway. I thought the highway buzz would be a downer but it didn’t bother me at all. It’s a small area with maybe a dozen spots but had plenty to choose from when we arrived in the evening. Because it’s small, you are fairly close to your neighbors. Also, because it’s close to the highway, expect late arrivals; there’s always that one person/group coming in well after sunset. There are bathrooms, tables, fire pits and plenty of trees for shade. It was quiet and clean for the most part - some micro-trash.

We arrived mid afternoon on a Wednesday and multiple sites were available. It is a very easy access to a very nice camp site along the flowing High Ore Creek. The same thing that provides easy access (freeway) also provides road noise, hence the 4 stars vs 5.
