“Lovely, if costly, campground in trees next to river”

We had no bookings so park camps booked out. This one was really lovely with great facilities in a wonderful setting, though it was the most expensive we stayed in during our 3 week van trip. Fantastic restaurant and bar with a deck overlooking trees and river with wifi. Was nice enough we decided to stay another night despite the cost.

Big Sur is a magical place and the Fernwood Resort is nestled in its Redwoods and and along its river. The price you will pay for this beauty includes steep nightly rates, tight roads, uneven spaces, partial hookups, and no AT&T reception. That said, it is well worth it!
