Tried staying there on Aug 21st 2024. Not big rig friendly, almost didn’t get turned around. Down a road with a quarry , plenty of gravel trucks traveling close by. Had to make other arrangements

The first night I came in and there were cows everywhere. They love the stream as much as we do. East oxbow is a fairly small camp spot. But I understand there are 3 more along the same road for larger vehicles. I was able to find a spot under a tree. I was able to find a spot under a tree.
And I was pleasantly surprised to find a small waterfall 1/4 mile down the bank. The water is refreshing on a hot day and the locals bring tubes to go over an even smaller water fall.
Limit 5 night stay.
The cows never came back but you did need to watch your step.
It was nice and pretty quiet, I guess it all depends on your neighbors.
No mint mobile cell service till I went 2 miles back to the interstate.

Camped here beginning of April and had no complaints! Close by you’ll find a gas station where you can refill water jugs. We needed a place to overnight. The drive in was pretty easy just a couple of spots where you had to slow up for pot holes. Plenty of cows grazing on the road. This area is really 4 different areas. If the first area is full head on down the road! This was a great spot with a beautiful creek! We did take a little hike by the creek, and we did pass a snake climbing a tree!! It wasn't dangerous and we left it alone and it left us alone too! However, it really was a great spot!!

We checked out east and west oxbow. Both sites had turn arounds for big rigs. We had no issues parking our 35ft travel trailer and there were some additional smaller spots for other RVs also! Cell service seemed better (2 bars Verizon vs 1) at west oxbow!

This boondocking site was quite easy to get to, even though it had rained earlier in the day. We choose the second pull off we came too, as the first already had a large travel trailer and a tenter. We have a small 16 foot travel trailer and I would not recommend anything much larger due to the turnaround radius available, There was a turnaround circle but it was so heavily rutted it would have been extremely hard to navigate.
We had the site to ourselves with a nice stream and dam close by the campsite, which is super nice to fall asleep to. There are some bluffs all around, which made for a very nice sunset and sunrise the next morning. There is an outhouse that wasn’t horrible according to my husband. I however, declined to brave it. There was some odor however that permeated the site that prevented me from giving this five stars.. I don’t think it was from the outhouse but we were unable to pinpoint the source.
I also want to pass along a warning I read in a Wyoming campsite book that included this site. Rattlesnakes are prevalent in this area so be wary, especially if you have dogs that like to explore. We did not however see any.
No Cell service.

This was our first boondocking experience, and it was good. The grass was mowed and the toilet was clean (although we didn’t use it). Before pulling in, we pulled over on the main road and walked down to the first little camping area on this site. Prior reviews stated the first and last camping areas would be best for a big rig, and another reviewer said it could be difficult to turn around for a big rig if it were crowded, so we checked for ourselves before driving our 42ft 5th wheel down the little road. We made it no problem; there was a loop and only 2 class A RVs down there. I see how it could be difficult for a big rig to turn around if it were crowded, but we didn’t have that problem. Never went to see the setup at the other 4 campgrounds. It was an easy, beautiful drive off I-90, mostly gravel road. It even rained overnight a little and we had no problems on the way out. Our kids fished in the creek, which is right there easily accessible, but they said there were zero fish in the water. It was too fast moving to go in for a swim, and deep.
