Question about Donald MacDonald Campground

In the ircgov.com brochure it says: "There are no
reservations, all sites are first come-first serve..." - But I was still able to make and pay for a specific campsite reservation online. So just wondering if we are guaranteed that exact campsite when we arrive, or if someone else able to occupy it before we get there?  Also, Can we car-camp with our car in the site or do we have to park in separate parking? Thanks

We stopped at the registration office and they’re very helpful. Car camping would be fine.

Your site is guaranteed. You can park your car on your site. We really enjoyed this campground. It’s close to town if you want to eat out instead of cooking.

We also made online reservations without issues on arrival. We had a 5th wheel but saw many folks using tents, and small RV type vehicles. This is an oddly nice campground with very helpful camp hosts. We were there early feb 2021. Safe travels

They only do online reservations now and it is the specific spot you reserve that you take. So it will be waiting for you. I’m not sure about the vehicle camping but I did see vans with people camping in them and we had our truck and a small trailer that we camp in. And had both at our site.

If you reserved it online the host will post it - that’s the site You will get. As for car camp -yes.

reservations are posted at your site, I car camped there last night plenty of room for car and fire ring , concrete table, shaded under scrub oaks and palm trees
