Most of the park residents are long term rentals. And 5 or more spots are "Camp Hosts". The office staff, and other hosts we interacted with were nice, friendly , and helpful. Most of the sites are really close together with lots of big trees and bushes. This place was like a RV village of big rigs squeezed in together. If you need space this isn't it. But we were totally fine for 2 nights while sightseeing the local spots. The bath house was clean and modern. Walking trails nearby for our dog.

Rate includes discount for monthly reservation. COVID shutdowns hit and we were kicked out of an Army Corps of Engineering campground, forced to find a place to hunker down. We're full-timers and opted to find an RV park that would allow us to stay for at least a month. Crater Lake RV staff became our 'COVID family' and we'll be forever grateful for the friendly staff that made us feel so welcome. The RV park is full of tall trees so you feel like you're camping at a state park. The Rogue River is only a few feet away, with the Hidden Lake for swimming and a hiking trail that goes on for miles. The RV sites form a loop that's great for walking the dogs and our toddler. Our site, #17, and many others are very long so fitting our 32' class A and our tow car was no issue. The Wifi worked well and we had no issues with our water/sewer hookups. Our site does not have cable access. There's a laundromat just a few minutes away. Prospect Store is also down the road and has all the essentials (eggs, milk, etc.) and Walmart is about 40 minutes away in Eagle Point. There are a couple of restaurants nearby with good pizza and burgers. Lots of great hiking and waterfalls nearby! No cell service but we didn't have a problem using wifi calling.

I have been wanting to stay here since reading a review criticizing the park for making an unruly visitor leave. That was 5 years ago. We had to cancel our reservation due to area fires that September. Well, we finally made it. This is my kinda park. FHU’s but with a public campground feel. (One of the many things our home state to the south is derelict in.) My wife was not as impressed. She lives for social media. No internet access was available from our site. We did find spots (like near the lodge at Crater Lake) to download emails, etc. It’s a very pleasant drive to Crater Lake from the resort, with most of the drive being within the park’s boundaries before reaching the actual tourist destination. Having visited the volcano numerous times, we actually enjoyed exploring the local area more. Great pie to the north. Great pizza pie in town just across the main road. My kinda place!

The people in spot 37 are not hosts but apparently live there and their large dog poops and they don’t pick it up immediately so the smell was a bit much. There is constantly new people coming in so it’s very busy. The river and lake are a short walk but be aware the dam releases water at any time. It’s about an hour from crater lake. There is a lot to do around there which is nice. But this park solidified my decision to never stay in a traditional RV park again.

Check-in was easy as could be, staff was friendly, and we even had an escort to our spot who helped us back in like a pro. We stayed during the week so it was nice and quiet. Excellent trails right behind the campground, waterfalls all around, and a "top of the world" lookout that was worth the drive up. Decently quick access to the park itself as well. Fast wifi on site but zero cell signal. Really great cafe in town and a laundromat with excellent pizza next door. Cute area with more than just Crater Lake going on.

The staff recommended several sites other than Crater Lake, wish we had planned to stay longer. Campground was clean and everything in very good working order. Our site was really nice and easy access to walking trails.

Our site was level and shaded with FHUs. 50 amp and we were able to connect our satellite. The park has lots of satellites set up and they rent boxes in the office for $16.
The sites are not huge, but there is a lot of privacy with the trees and shrubs. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The maps and information they provide for the area are great..
Prospect is a little town in trouble. Only the post office, grocery/gas station and pizza parlor were still open. The pizza was very good!
Visit the Falls while you're here - beautiful!
The entire area is without cell or internet with very little exception. You can find a couple spots along Hwy 62 to check email and make calls. Make sure you get gas in Prospect, there aren't any other options before Memorial Day, and then I think it's only Diamond Lake and at Crater Lake.

We LOVED Crater Lake RV Park... it's absolutely gorgeous and extremely reasonable price-wise. The sites were flat, long and very spacious. The hookups were excellent - the water was a little on the hard side but it tasted delicious. The entire park is set within a mature pine forest and each site is surrounded by towering evergreens. Best thing of all is they give you a couple pages of maps of all the things to see in the area... gorges, waterfalls, hiking... all absolutely worth the trip and all within a 10-60 minutes drive.
The WiFi is infuriating. Even when we could connect - which wasn't often - there was so little bandwidth left over that no internet pages or emails would fully load. A few other campers with boosters said is was a little better, but not much. Data connection via AT&T was non-existent as well, so we basically spent 7 days in the park completely disconnected. That's ok, we didn't come here for the WiFi so we didn't expect much to begin with.
One other note: The pull-thrus I saw weren't particularly level. They were fine for 5th wheels, but the larger Class-A's we saw trying to park in them had a heck of a time leveling... most had to lift their front end completely off the ground. They have plenty of long back-in spots for bigger rigs that are much more level, so don't automatically ask for a pull-thru.
Even with all the minor annoyances, Crater Lake RV Park is one of the sweetest parks we've even been in. We'd loved to come back many, many times, and can't wait until we have the chance to do so.

We stayed here 2 weeks so apparently liked it enough. It has positives and negatives. The hosts are very nice, friendly and helpful. It is centrally located to many visitor attractions. We stayed in two different sites. In one, we could fit the motorhome in but had to jockey the car around to avoid blocking the site next to us. It was not very level. The second site was much longer and more suited to a large motorhome. The interior roads are narrow so be careful with larger units. The Wi-FI didn't work at either site. (Hint: The library just across the street has WI-FI. You can sit in your car, inside the library, or outside at a table. It worked great.) Due to trees, our satellite did not work. We could use our Verizon phones if we sat right by the office. The strangest thing was how the computer did the billing especially if you extended your stay. I couldn't determine by looking at the receipts if I was charged correctly. I verified the price by checking my account once we left. If we needed hookups, we would stay here again.

Their seems to be residents at site 37 who let their very large dog poop around their site and don’t pick it up so the smell is constant. There is constantly people coming in to the park so if your near the entrance its very busy. They advertise a quick walk to the lake and river which it is but you have to be cautious at the river since your down stream from the dam and they raise the water at anytime apparently and the lake doesn’t have much shore line. All in all I will never camp in another RV Park after this one.
