We got lucky and found this site around 2am a week out. Looks like this campground is booked solid pretty much all season, and it's easy to see why. Site 21 was particularly nice and had access directly to the west rim trail and is close to the bathhouse w/o having people walking right in front of you to get there. We're in a camper van, so easy to maneuver, but husband saw a 40+ ft class A trying to get into a site and they ultimately had to abandon their efforts - campground roads seem to be pretty curvy for a rig that size, so I would definitely call ahead to make sure you could actually have room to back a big rig into a spot. The east rim looks like it might be more welcoming to bigger rigs but not as much privacy and there is more traffic on that side.
Hiking trails were really nice. I didn't do the trail to the waterfalls but husband did and enjoyed it, but agreed with others that it's not a good hike for dogs. Other trails are fine for dogs.
Bathhouse was old but generally clean. Didn't use the showers. We didn't experience any issues with noise past quiet hours. Campground hosts were very friendly and helpful.
1-2 bars Verizon coverage with a booster.

We had 2 bars verizon here, but the cell tower seemed to be overloaded, as even with our booster, good service was a struggle at times.
Plenty of big rig spots. Overall, we'd come back!

Cloudland Canyon sits atop the Lookout Mountain range. Overall, this park is deserving its reputation as possibly the finest in the Georgia State Park system. Magnificent views over the canyon and ample hiking opportunities along the rim and down into the gorge. A note of caution, approaching the park from the west (from Trenton) requires a very steep climb up a narrow RT 136 with two switchback and an undulating road. Climbing this route in a 30’ travel trailer was a challenge for driver and tow vehicle. It was such a steep ride that we chose to depart the park going east on RT 136 connecting to RT 193 where the descent from the mountain was a much gentler grade. We stayed in the east loop, which was very close to the activities of the day-use area and main trailhead. The park was pretty busy on the weekend of our arrival with a lot of day-use visitors, but during the week we found very few people and little traffic. Road asphalt, sites gravel, decently spaced. Its an older park so sites are a bit smaller. Impeccably clean to include the bathhouse which was heated and spotless. Again, its an older facility showing signs of wear, but clean and served the purpose. Another note: it did not appear this bath house was ADA accessible, so keep that in mind if you have special needs. 3 bars on Verizon Wifi hotspot. We have camped in dozens of state parks, this one is among the best of the best

Stayed 3 nights , sites pretty level . We found the campground one of the quietest we’ve been to . Clean and well kept . The state park has some good hikes . We enjoyed the west rim trail . Close to Chattanooga- we loved visiting Ruby falls and our personal favorite Rock City Gardens! .

The site was level and good space outside with a trail directly behind the site. Site was fairly wooded and private. Good Verizon coverage. Bathrooms were old but kept clean by the camp hosts; laundry onsite as well. Only downside for us was the weather; it was overcast and rainy most of the time but we still enjoyed our stay tremendously and will be back. Great bike trails nearby and a cool disc golf course. We stayed here Oct 23-28, 2020.

It was so shocking and ugly that if it had not been so close to dark we would have just left...I plan to report it to the state parks, and the bathrooms in that one are was very dated and both sinks clogged, looked like kids were placing sand and paper in the sink playing, but the other restrooms east rim though also dated, they were very clean and warm....also I was a bit aggravated that they start checking you in and get you a site and then they inform you that they charge people who pay to camp overnight in the park ANOTHER FEE on top of the nightly camping of $33, now we camp all over at lots of campgrounds and never been charged a daily park entry fee to go into the campground that I was already PAYING to camp in, that’s ridiculous to me and just trying to get more money....other than that it has great hiking trails and area is beautiful.

Just the same it is a beautiful state park with a lot of history nearby.
The climb from the Interstate to the park is a healthy one, but I would still do it again for one night.
With many hiking trails and 30 miles of bike trails we will be back to stay longer.
Verizon and ATT has a strong signal with 20+MB’s download but a practically non-existent upload of between .5 and .9mbs.
