We stopped for just one night on our way to Tennessee from West Virginia. The campground is located inside the Jefferson National Forest in Virginia. There is a camp host but there is also a self pay station. $12/night plus $5/night for electric hook-ups. There are five sites with hook-ups in the front of the campground but we chose to take a primitive site in the back. There are pit toilets scattered throughout the campground (we did not go in them), and a restroom with showers on a hill near the entrance. Right behind our campsite was a beautiful fast moving stream that bubbled playfully throughout the night. There was a trail near our site that followed the stream and we had fun playing with the dogs in the water. In the morning, I took a walk following the stream and saw lots of craw fish and minnows. There is a boat launch to a lake not far from the campground. On the way out we took advantage of their dump station. We will visit Cane Patch again.
