Have you ever been somewhere that things just felt "off". Like there's something wrong, but you just can't put your finger on it right away? I had that feeling as soon as we arrived here for a month.
The site we were told was "premium" and a nice roomy site turned out to be 5 feet from another camper outside the door, with the utilities on the wrong side of the site, right outside our front door. The site wasn't even located where it was shown on the map. It had loud landscaping construction out the back door for the entire month. And the dumpsters for the park had been conveniently relocated right behind our site.
Any of this could have been communicated before we got there. When we travel, we choose parks based on sites so we can have the quiet and privacy we need for work. And needless to say, we only found out about all of this once we traveled 1300 miles to get here and they already had our money.
What makes it worse though is the management and ownership of Buddy's. Not only did all of this happen, we were downright ignored in all of our attempts to rectify things, by everyone except for one employee who did her best. The owner, who lives on site, wouldn't even make eye contact with us until we started asking for our money back. And all throughout the month, she was verbally berating employees in public within earshot of us and anyone else who could hear, and gossiping about other employees behind their backs. The manager, it turned out, was even worse, and started gossiping about US to other clients.
By the time we left, my wife was in tears every day over how terrible it felt to even be there. And I, who am generally pretty unflappable, was so mad I was shaking.
And once we left and moved to a different place, we realized that this place has a reputation already amongst the long term RV community in the area. No one wants to be here because of how toxic the people are, and no matter how nice the park is, they leave and go somewhere that they're treated like human beings and not just dollar signs.
Needless to say, we won't be back. The most miserable month we've ever spent in our RV.

We stayed here for two months after only planning on one month. It's a new park that still has some kinks to work out, but the setting is beautiful and the amenities are nice. Just south of Bee Cave, you have everything you need within 20-30 min. And there are plenty of hikes/vineyards/sights close by.
Issues: The landscaping and grass between the pads is thin and immature. They watered way too much, especially for winter, and that created many mud puddles right outside your door and soft turf that got tore up by vehicles. As we were there they kept adding gravel around corners and edges of pads, which are a bit too small for our 39' fifth wheel, but we managed. Probably should've waited to open until the turf was mature.
Also, the Wi-Fi was spotty. There was a mess of hard-wires lying around the campground for people who worked from home. They supposedly added some "boosters" while we were there but we didn't notice much difference.
Once they work out these issues, it'll be 5-stars.
Greg B would stay here again

Do note when coming in from the San Antonio area (East to west) the GPS will try to take you on Texas Rd 3268… that would be a hard no! There is a sharp curve that anyone bigger than about 25’ should not attempt. Fortunately there is plenty of warning and a turn around area prior.

Beware if you pre-pay for your stay (which you don’t have to do); in my case, five months, you will not be refunded when you leave or if you have to go early for an emergency. The resort never told me that my payment was not refundable, and I would not have paid it if I knew it was non-refundable. I am a month-to-month Rv spot. I had to leave early since my RV flooded and will be in the shop for the next three weeks, which leaves my two boys in a hotel with me. The policy is poorly written. I wasn't asking for February's rent back; I was asking for March, April, and May since I left before the 1st of March. I already lived in the RV park and was checking out early. I can leave at the end of the month and not be responsible for the remaining days I reserved. It turns out that is not true. If you leave early, you will be charged for an additional month. Christy, the owner, took $699 from my kids, which would have been applied to our hotel bills since insurance only paid $750 max. Side note if you are a full-time RV LIVING FAMILY, CHECK YOUR POLICY FOR DISPLACEMENT OR EMERGENCY FUNDS ON YOUR POLICY.
The tall redhead lady at the front will correct you if you correct your kids. I was embarrassed by her in front of my kids because they wouldn’t stop fighting, so I made them do chores (load the laundry machines). Wanay or whatever says you are not allowed to correct your kids in the common areas of the RV park.
Wanay or whatever likes to put everyone’s business out there. For example
- there are cameras in the clubhouse because an employee did something inappropriate in the clubhouse. The Owners girlfriend marks her Territory by putting a scooter in the clubhouse and ripped a picture of the owner's wife (original partner) and her off the wall because she was upset. She talked down on the groundskeeper. The moral of the story is that she is miserable and isn’t fired because she at least shows up. So if you make her upset, be prepared to be hung up on, given attitudes, and she will run her mouth about you behind your back. She made all my guests feel uncomfortable while visiting. She says that she pushes the owner to do what she wants and admits standing her ground to get her way.
Also, before moving in, I was told that I could get rocks installed to help offset the sinking mud. After asking an additional five times for rock, so my family didn't sink a foot into the mud, I gave up and got pavers myself. Why complain when I can pay a few dollars, and my issue is fixed.
This is how this resort treats its customers. #I hope all my Military Families give their business to Open Air resort. While their hours for their clubhouse close earlier, they at least have never given me a hard time or treated me as terribly as this place has. Val and her husband run the place and ensure that the guest feels welcomed, the amenities are always clean, and you won’t be sinking in a foot of mud every time you walk out of your RV. Plus when you book a longer stay and leave early as long as you leave before the end of the month they will give you your deposit back and not charge you for an additional month. Tell them Marie Sent you.
Also, the surrounding neighbors do not want this resort in their neighborhood. Watch out for nails. I picked up a handful of nails, so none of us got a flat tire. The people in the area drive by and throw them upfront of the park intentionally.
