Such a pretty place. So peaceful… except for the obnoxious generators running at night.

This is an easily accessible campground from I-26. The sites are under the trees and close together, but there were only a few campers during the week in late March. I have a small camper but it seemed navigable for larger rigs. Vault toilets were very clean and well maintained. I found the reservation system confusing and it didn’t appear there were any first come first serve sites, although I may have misunderstood. Had to drive back to the interstate to get enough cell service to reserve online. I ended up paying more than the posted fee, maybe because I inadvertently reserved an equestrian site? Posted fee was $5 without any discounts.

Though site 12 had a "first come, first serve" sign on the camp number post, but after not being able to find the QR code to register on Recreation.gov I called the office number and said where we were at and how do we pay; that gal didn't and left a message for someone else to call me. She did first thing next morning. Now no where does it state the inside of the loop is for first come deer hunting people and that the outside of the loop is for reservations, in reality there aren't any first come first serve for non hunting people. So the ranger wanted us to move to the outside ring so in case someone that was a first come first serve camper came they would have that spot. Since we were only staying two days anyway, we decided to pack up and move, but not to the outside loop, but to the Walmart in Greenwood. Besides it looks like some have been there quite a while, so I don't think the length of stay run is being enforced.
Other than that it was quite nice, we stayed in site 12, it was a great site. It had concrete picnic table a very nice fire ring with an operational cooking grate. The park is clean and site are spaced nicely. One way loop and back-in sites angled the proper direction. There were plenty of trash receptacles that appear to be emptied regularly. We we parked right next to one of the two dual-stall pit toilets, we didn't use them but they must have been pretty clean because there was no smell.
All in all it was a nice camp site, they just need to have the clear and proper instruction in place so that short term don't take spots for local hunters. I get it, they want to cater to the local population rather than out-of-staters. Then make everything "reserved" then overnighters and short-termers will move on.
If they could work out the rules and post them or be available to direct you I'd stay again. It was peaceful and quite and again an overall good stay.

I spent three quiet nights here and it was great for what I needed. The drive in is a well maintained dirt road with just a few small pot holes. The campground loop is pretty much split between sites you have to reserve in advance and first come-first served sites. I got here on a Thursday and most of the first come-first served sites were open and probably half of the reservable sites were open. The site I picked required no leveling and was one of the smaller sites, I'm only 23 ft and would park in this site with something bigger than 28 ft. There is a nice 9.5 mile trail that passes by the campground loop or you can walk down the road .2 miles and start at the trailhead. Other than hiking/horseback riding there's not much to do here. But if you need a quiet setting to relax or get work done this is a nice place to be. The vault toilets were clean and well maintained. There is a 14 day stay limit. My Verizon jetpack got 31.31 download/12.2 upload speeds.

This place was a perfect spot this week. It is fairly secluded, underutilized (only a couple of campers each night), well maintained, inexpensive, and has a clean spot to poo.
5 out of 5, would poop here again.

Great one night stay. Lots of level spots to pull your RV onto. Paid $5 . Clean vault toilets. Had no reservations, first come first serve on about half the sites. The camp had two left. We parked our 24ft. Rig on site 7. No leveling required perfectly level.

Was traveling and camping on way to Charleston SC from ILL and this is about 2 1/2 hrs from my destination. Half the sites of the 17 total are reservable on Rev.gov. The price is great, sites are large and spaced. 5 mi off exit 60 on I26.

The road is well maintained.
Pit toilets are available and decent.
Nice shade and level sights.
Lots of trails, a lot of the horses were out and about while camping.
Nice to finally find some quiet.
Not all the sites had fire pits with a grill, so if that’s important I’d recommend getting there before picking a site.
We stayed Saturday and Sunday and Saturday night we had 4 other campers and Sunday just one other guest that pulled in late.

We stayed here for a night on our way to Charleston, SC.
There is a cost now for it, but it is only $5. Pit toilets that were stocked and fairly clean, level spots that were spread out enough to not feel crowded.
There was a couple that seems to be regulars in the campground that ran their generator through the evening, all night, and was still running when we left later the next morning. We were far enough away that it didn’t really bother us at all but something for sure to keep in mind in case they continue to visit and continue to use their generator.
Easy access as well and I would expect most sized rigs to fit fairly easily.
All and all would stay here again.
