Good concrete pad . Cypress area sites too close together with little privacy. Acorn and Fern area sites much better. Good park for hiking , fishing and kayaking. Some noise from sirens warning about water release from nearby dam

Most things were shut down because of CoVid 19. They have hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, miniature golf, paddle boarding & kayaking (rentals available), train rides, hay rides, and horseback riding. So many fun things to do! We saw a fly fishing shop on park property. We definitely plan on returning!

Road leading to the park is very narrow and in need of repair. The park maps provided by the staff must have been drawn by first graders. Road leading to the park is very narrow and in need of repair. The park maps provided by the staff must have been drawn by first graders. Price paid was $25 for the night which included a $2 senior discount. Site as A13 in the Acorn loop. The Siren at the dam sounds quite off and through the night and early hours before day break. per the fisherman I spoke with the fishing is very good for trout and crappie. there are several guides available to take you to their favorite honey hole. Hiking trails are nice and well marked. The museum was very nice and gives a good understanding of the importance of trees, the amount of work that goes into logging, milling of lumber and how the people lived/live to provide us with these materials. Despite this being a very nice campground I would not make this a stop over place unless it would be to my convenience due to the roads, no cell reception (Verizon), no Satellite access and noise from the dam.

We love this park. Very shady and serene. Buckeye Campground is reservation only, other campgrounds are first come, first served. $2 senior discount. 30 amp, some 50 amp. Handicap sites have sewer. Trout fishing on LMF river in park, some C&R only. Some pull through, most sites are back in. Our favorite park to just relax.
