I would like to start by saying that this is one of the most beautiful parks! The rolling hills, trees, and closeness to nature is unbelievable, because just down the road, it is a full out mess with road work and traffic. We took a fantastic kayak excursion that was amazing because we went early and the fog was hanging in the canyon and was ethereal.
But when we plugged in our Airstream, the pole kept giving us errors. It tripped our breaker several times. We had a huge Fifth-wheel next to us that apparently was sucking all the just with its two air conditioners. When we got back after our kayak trip, our Airstream was 98 degrees inside. We thought we killed our Pomeranian, thankfully he was fine. But the fun was over and we left a day early since our fridge was hot, the air conditioning wouldn’t work and the power box was giving so many errors.
T-mobile Cell service was one or two bars, depending on whether you had your hand in the air and were standing on one foot.

We arrived early evening on a Friday and didn't realized that there was a Fall Festival that weekend. All the RV sites we full. We called the campground and they said if we can back our trailer into a primitive camp spot, we were more than welcome to stay. We started exploring all the little roads within Steven's Gap and found our perfect boondock home (much better that any of the RV spots as we were very secluded). We parked right at the waters edge with no one in sight. Beautiful views of the lake almost in every direction. The fall colors were in full swing and we were able to drop the trailer and head out the the Lower Mountain Fork river for some great fly fishing. So much more to explore. We will be back.

Stayed in April, weather was great. Nice sites with full hookups. Much to do in park, fishing, swimming, paddle boards, ect. Several nice bars and food joints in area. Had to depart early do to death in family, camp host said she couldn't refund any money but give us a credit. Much appreciated. Would stay again.
