IMHO, it’s the perfect location for those who want a quiet camping experience nearby coastal towns.
There is one loop with back-in sites around the perimeter and 7 pull-through sites in the centre. There is a short seasonal lane extending inland from the camping loop with well-maintained units. They offer unserviced tent sites, E/W, and full service sites. I stayed in a full-service site. Almost all of the camping sites were occupied during our visit.
Another reviewer commented that the sites were close together. That is true, but it was quiet both during the day and evening.
Sue and Rick, the Campground Hosts during our visit, were friendly and gracious. Rick took great care to maintain and rake each site after a guest left to ensure that campers arrived to a tidy campsite.
I will gladly return to Wild Duck on future trips to the Maine coast.

This was the most underwhelming place that we have stayed yet. The sites are close together and they are just dirt that isn’t even level. The dirt is very hard to keep out of the camper. The worst part was the mosquitoes are so bad that Deet won’t even work. We had to leave and we got no refund or apology.

$65 for peace and quiet, but that’s about it. Yes you do have standard W/C, bathhouse, and laundry. Spaces are spacious and most of them are levered. You have a picnic table and a fire ring. I think it’s a bit overpriced for what you get in return but overall 4/5 would highly recommend! Several option available for your spot!

THE GOOD

Really quiet family campground.
Site: Long dirt sites suitable for large rigs with extra items in-tow. Living space are nicely shaded with grass.
COULD BE BETTER:
Sites: Sites felt a bit tight.
WORTH NOTING (not good or bad thing)
Store: There is no store on-site for any essentials.
Amenities: We were only there for a night traveling to Acadia NP, so didn't use the amenities.
Cell: I cannot recall the connectivity b/c it was a year ago.

Site was tight to the trailers to our Left and Right. They were very strict about their check-in time. It was conveniently located to our work obligations in Portland and had a great ice cream shop up on the corner.

Bathhouse/restrooms were ok, but a bit old. No propane on site anymore. A few seasonal campers & park models, but fairly clean. The street into the park is through residential neighborhood so drive real carefully. The driveway from the office to the camp is basically one-way between ponds and has two concrete sluices cut into the asphalt that create a nuisance bump so watch your speed. The nature trail could use some TLC. Lots of pine tree shade.

We had planned on staying 3 nights. We actually notified the lady at the office desk 36 hours before the time we needed to leave, time enough for office lady to tell owner of our plans and for the owner to receive our call and to return our call. They were told that we had been given an unexpected minimal window of opportunity to visit with my nephew in Massachusetts. Personally, I think that was ample time for our request of cancellation and for them to have accepted someone else’s request for a replacement reservation if all parties had been astute. We went ahead and left and when I called the owner on Monday to ask concerning a credit on our account, he said “if I had only known…”. I did my part…..
