Beautiful campground! Owners are so friendly and helpful. Sites are easy to get in to and are large. Quiet and secluded-which means minimal cell service. Only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer.

We booked this site months in advance and were really excited to stay. On the positive side of things, it is truly one of the best locations if you want to be in the Leelanau Peninsula and close to everything it has to offer. Leland and Suttons Bay, two of our favorite getaways, are really close. The sites are clean and they have full hookup.
This campground is essentially on what appears to be old golf course fairways. It's wide open, no trees, full sun. There is an upper section and a lower section. The upper has great views and a nice breeze (that's where we stayed). The lower section is around a pond that looks like it belongs on a golf course, complete with bubblers to keep the weeds and algae down. The campers are set up in a large loop around the pond. The spacing is good and the noise is minimal.
There aren't many amenities or really much to do, so you do need a vehicle to get around and see the nearby sites.
We had read concerns about the mobile/cellular coverage and when we booked the site we specifically asked about mobile coverage. The resort offered to put us on the upper area where reception is better. When we arrived, we paid our remaining amount and checked in. Immediately we realized that there is NO coverage. Nothing. Apparently the area get slammed with people it crushes the connectivity. I set up my booster - still nothing! We monitored the connectivity on Verizon. Between approximately 10am and 8pm there was no phone or data. After 8pm it works great. I needed to work remotely, so this immediately was an issue. The campground wifi at the campground is also not good - don't plan on using it for anything. We ended up speaking with the front desk twice about this, but they were firm that there was no refund (even though we had just paid the remaining $400+).
We stayed two nights, over the weekend, then ended up moving closer to Traverse City for the remaining 7 nights of our reservation and ate the cost.
Summary - if you want to be in the Leelanau area, this place is great. If you are going for the campground experience OR if you have to work remotely (or need any connectivity) this is not the place. Would I stay again? Yes, if I was going for the location only. But I'm also bummed that they weren't forthcoming about the connectivity issues. I don't feel that they were honest when I booked this.

The views are amazing, especially September and October when the fall colors come in. Jim and Brian and the rest of the staff are friendly and kind. They keep the place looking great, and every year there's something new at Wild Cherry. We've been here five times in the past six years, and we'll be returning again soon.

Convenient to several wineries. Leland and Sutton’s Bay just a short drive. We went over to Empire Bluffs Trails (1/2 hr drive) to hike and watch the bald eagles along the lake shore.
Internet provided by grounds was just enough to stream a movie (but very few people there to suck up bandwidth). Would like to see faster speeds installed. Good AT&T connection too with about 10 Mpbs down. OTA TV reception would bring in enough channels.
Price is a bit rich for no pool, or cable tv. Would frequent more if not so expensive. (Came here cause other grounds closed on a Saturday).

We enjoyed the pull in site. The pond in front of us was beautiful to look at! Level spot, patio with hard plastic picnic table, fire pit. Pond was catch and release no swimming.
