I stayed there inside my Subaru Outback 2 weeks ago. I had called ahead and gotten permission and even met the guy I spoke with when I arrived. He said, just don't park where the truck lines are. The parking areas are well lighted and it is right off the highway. I strongly recommend getting an inexpensive sleeping mask (mine was $5 in the CVS section at Target) as well as earplugs and you will be fine. Google and the sign on the door said the building itself opened at 8:00 a.m. but I found it open at 7:00 a.m. Nice and warm in there and a clean bathroom. Porta-potties outside for after hours. Tip: try Scotty's near Wallingford Center for breakfast. It's a tiny joint where all the locals go. Great breakfast menu and friendly, old fashioned atmosphere.

As a single woman I felt safe overall there.

The guy who answered told me that you can pull in, sleep and dump 24/7. I pulled in at 7:30am on a Sunday morning and there was exactly 1 VM pop up camper in the RV lot (plenty of trucks and cars in those lots). The main place was closed but there were porta potties, water fountains and non-potable water for rinsing at the dump station. A really convenient rest area and you can't beat free!
