“Nice campground with average services”

Reviewed Apr 16, 2019

Overall Rating

As New Jersey residents this is a close campground for us to get away for a weekend. It's a nice campground with average services. Being here in early April it was especially quiet and being our first stay can't speak to how this might be in the middle of July. We'll definitely come here again over the summer.

Sites are well kept and fairly clean, again it's early in the season so this may be even better in the coming months. The only issue we had was that the sewer connection was buried and we had to clear a lot of dirt to get to the screw-on top. Other than that, no issue with the site.

Verizon wireless service was incredibly slow. Although, the speed was considerably better on my LTE equipped iPad mini as opposed to an iPhone XR. Streaming movies via the iPad directly or using the hotspot feature was ok. I didn't ask if WiFi was available and didn't see anything about WiFi availability on any of the paperwork we received at check-in (Perhaps I missed it?), however, having just checked the Thousand Trails listing WiFi is available for a fee ($4 p/day). We'll try the WiFi next time.

All in all, a good stay and we look forward to going back.More

“Timothy Lake South Review - Good campground off the beaten path.”

Reviewed Nov 07, 2017

Overall Rating

The North Campground was closed this is a review for the South.
This is one of the campgrounds in our Thousand Trails Zone Pass. It is an average Thousand Trails campground. We stayed 3 nights. Quiet campground in the off season. This is one of the few campgrounds in the area that stay opened all year long. We are here in the late fall and everything is covered with leaves so it is hard to tell if the grounds are well maintained. It looked clean. Hook ups were easy to find and located in one spot. Sewer was level with the ground which is good for us, some of the pipes can be a little high. Water seemed good. We cooked with it and brushed our teeth. I showered once in the comfort station. It was ok. The place could have used a cleaning but it was passable. The building was heated which was nice and the water was hot with good pressure. Many places don't do that.

When checking in we were able to go through the campsite and pick our spot, first time for that process. Many of the spots looked level. We had to use three of the 1" leveling blocks to be level. It was fine.

Verizon is two bars on cell phone and 2mg download speeds for lte. When making calls I was dropped multiple times.

They charge for Internet, $4 per day (FastWave) and for cable $3 per day. Didn't use either service.

The campground is about an hour off the highway and the roads into the campground are a little wavy and small. Could be an issue for larger 5th wheels and Class A, but people were there with the larger rigs so it is doable.

There are no large box stores near by IE Walmart, Target. So you might want to prepare before you head in. There are smaller local grocery stories which we found just fine. They are 20 - 30 mins away.

Pub570 is about 15 mins away if you want a good beer selection and a place to watch a game. People were friendly. Looked frequented by locals. We stopped twice and enjoyed both meals

Area is surrounded by hiking, biking, hunting, fishing. The Delaware Gap Water Recreation Area. I recommend Dingman Falls hike, two good waterfalls. Bushkill Falls is a paid entry to hike and see the waterfall so we passed.

We would stay again.
