Susanville Dispersed Camping

Here right now in May (10). SMALL area, low tree limbs, lots of muddy ruts you cannot avoid. Not for large rigs, simply to many trees to block you from even turning. Most of the sites are rutted and only about two spots are good for regular cars. I parked, got out and foolishly left the door open and when I went to the back of the truck, there were about 100 mosquitoes bouncing off the door. Right off the road so you get the sound of cars. But otherwise really pretty. Little pond a couple hundred yards back. Like other said, enough for 6-8 camps. We had it to ourselves for a couple hours and then another group joined for the evening.

We didn’t actually stay here but we had hoped to! We were heading north on 139 and planned to stop here but missed the turn - it’s after a curve in the road and expectedly not marked ahead of time. Great little pullover spot up the hill from Susanville. Room for about 6 vehicles but we were the only ones during our stay. Would be tough for larger rigs. No toilet or tables. Right next to 395, but there was hardly any traffic overnight. 🙂
I did spend about 30 minutes picking up garbage others had left. ☹️
