Overall Rating

A parking lot up a road overlooking the city of Silver Bay with, just down the hill, a free dump station and fresh water available (donations accepted). We were the only ones there and felt safe and secure. Walk up the road farther to see and learn about the taconite processing plant that fronts Lake Superior.

Silver Bay RV & Truck parking
I came through on a Saturday in the summer without a rez anywhere. I swung by earlier in the day to see the overlook and figured this would work for the night. I ended up 1 of 4 vans parked there overnight. It was a quiet night and the lot was pretty flat.

Down the hill before you get back the main road (Outer Dr), there is a free (with donation) dump station with fresh water.

I ended up staying here again on my way back southbound. It was a weekday and I was the only one there for the night.
