You have to go under the locks in a tunnel but it is 13’6” and then over a bridge to get to the park but there were big class A’s in there with no problems. The registration office was not friendly and no map or directions to site was given and no internet in the park. The upper campsites are just to the east of the registration office back towards the fork in the main road. There is hardly any signage at the park to know where to go. We had site 227 with power only and the site said it was 40ft but it was snug, off camber and deeply rutted from mud and our power box was very dilapidated and tripped our main breaker a couple of times. We backed up into the “forest of trees” and at sunset the fireflies would come out and dance in the trees and in our site and it was like something out of a fairy tale or the pirates of the Caribbean ride! There is no sun at this spot, it is fully in shade but close to bathrooms and water fill stations if you need it. Barely one bar of AT&T but our cell booster helped and we were able to stream with our Roku. While here you have to visit the Eisenhower Locks. They have a website to see when the big freighters are coming and a viewing area. The visitor center for the locks is open 10-6pm and is free and worth it. Not much else in Massena but there is a super Walmart.

There are 2 campsites. The newer site, near the registration office has the best access to the beach. Not a huge amount of shade on some of the sites but very clean. Great playground.

First, let's start with the fact that there are TWO Robert Moses State Parks in New York. One is on Long Island. This is not it. This park is often referred to as Robert Moses State Park - Thousand Islands to avoid confusion.
Second, to get to the park, you have to go through a tunnel under the Eisenhower Lock. The height of the tunnel is 13' 6". You can fit, we had no problem at 13' 4".
Third, a big attraction for this state park is the Eisenhower Lock in the St. Lawrence Seaway. Get the right site, and you can watch the lake freighters from your campsite.
Fourth, the price we paid during the last half of the summer of 2019 was discounted 50%. Due to high water levels on Lake Ontario and the Seaway, the state of New York was offering a discount to attract people to the parks.
Parts of this state park deserve four stars, other parts deserve 3 stars. It all depends upon where your site is. Sites 37 through 53 all have wide open views of the Eisenhower Lock. Sites 182 to 194 on the south side of the road all have views and paths down to the water's edge. Sites on the north side of the street have limited views of the Seaway. All the other sites in the park deserve only 3 stars.
Check-in can be a little confusing. You have to go to the campground office at the beach to register. There is plenty of parking for big rigs there.
The sites are paved surrounded by grass and trees. There is power only at the sites, with water available at various points throughout the campground. There is a decent dump station, but it can get busy as people leave on a Sunday morning.
Since we are self contained, we didn't check out the bathrooms, but they looked new. There was some over-the-air television. Both Verizon and ATT worked, although the closer you are to the town of Massena, the better they work.
All in all, this is a decent state park. If you like to watch ships, you will enjoy this place. Make sure you visit the Eisenhower Lock Visitor's Center (open Memorial Day to Labor Day) and go up the observation platform. Visit http://www.greatlakes-seaway.com/en/navigating/map/index.html to see when freighters are coming through.
