The park is on the river which makes good trout fishing, and close to Chama which is within walking distance. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic RR runs along the park, about twice a day, the bathrooms are clean, and the showers are hot if you need to use the facilities. Will stay at this park again, the nicest park in Chama.

If you are into trains this is the place to stay. We came to this park because of a friend’s recommendation. After looking at the other Good Sam parks would stay at Sky Mountain next time.

Staff is friendly and accommodating. A wonderful place to stay if you are going to ride the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, a great adventure. Elevation about 8,000 feet so it rarely gets over 80 in the summer with overnight lows in the 40s.

Tight spaces but nice and quiet with lots of shade trees. Love how quiet it is. Hope to come back here again!
We used a cell phone booster and Verizon hotspot and we were able to stream Netflix.
Also surprised I could search digital channels on our Roku and there were so many available!

We had a great 30 Amp site, trees provided ample shade and it was quiet.

Chama is small village that is the terminus of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. The railroad was not yet allowed in NM due to virus. Pretty quiet here. A great grocery store in town. There is also an open space park just up the hill from the RV park for hiking, biking and fishing.
