Moffitt Lake Recreation Area Campground

I grew up about 5mi from Moffits Lake. When I was 6, I went camping here with my cousins, and this is where I had my first experience with campers and campgrounds. I assumed all campers were like the Army 'nam vet who would eat a night crawler for $1 and share a beer with 6 - 10-year-olds. So when my high school friend said that he got a seasonal camping spot, I was flabbergasted. This guy is picky. Apparently, beer-drinking worm-eating campers are a thing of the past at Moffit's.

There is a new manager at Moffit's and she's just the sweetest person. Probably helps that I've known her since I was in middle school. She has stepped up the camping game at Moffits, with new cabins, cleaner sites, and activities for kids. The camp store is brand new and offers small snacks and camper parts, but also pizza! We weren't able to try one, but they smelled amazing.

It's a very hilly location, but that's Western Kentucky. The sites we picked, C1 and C2, were on the water. Due to the steep hills, I would not recommend larger towables or fifth wheels for those locations. They had wifi and we were able to watch the news through Roku but unsure if it's enough to work from the camper.
