Camp Cadiz Campground

When I arrived here, there were plenty of spots open. I chose #4. The campground filled in throughout the evening. There is not much separation from neighbors. It's really just an open field with designated spots. My neighbors were loud all night and again very early in the morning. This is a good place for a quick sleep but don't plan on having quiet time or privacy.

This campground is described on the forest service website as “off the beaten path” and it is. Approach is at least 3 miles on gravel road that is not quite two lanes wide, wash boarded in spots but passable with care in any rig. Most of the campsites are small, back in, and lightly graveled with tables and fire rings. About half the sites are in the trees and the others are in a meadow. None are particularly secluded. There are a couple in the open area that would accommodate slightly larger rigs, maybe to 30’. Rigs up to 25’ feet would fit in the other spots. Vault toilet.
We did not stay because we were looking for sun for our solar and the sunny spots were taken.
This is near the Garden of the Gods Recreation Area and Wilderness.
