Great location on the water and near downtown Mobile. We had lots of wind coming off the bay which kept it comfortable, but lots of ants too. Bathrooms well maintained. Decent spacing between sites but limited trees/brush separating as in many SPs.

Bathrooms were nice but a good walk from your spot and confusing paths to them that led you through others campsites.
Nice boardwalk out to the bay to observe gators and all sorts of bird life. You can hear the traffic on I-10 bridge just across from the campground but it was not terrible.
We really want to explore more of this area of Alabama and would us this as a base point in the future.
Great staff!

We stayed here in January of 2022 for 5 nights. Had a waterfront side, but towards the East end of the CG. The other sites along the water were all great! Loads of huge RVs here and no shrubs or much between the sites. Little meandering trails behind the CG and a cool boardwalk (short boardwalk) and fishing pier. We did see one alligator to the West of the pier on a little beach. Very clean. Nice long site to fit our truck in front of our trailer. A few Geocaches in the park and some really nice Alabama State Parks swag in them. The Piggly Wiggly in Fairhope was nicer than the one in Spanish Fort (especially if you like craft beer). Laundry facilites, but yes I think only one dryer was working. All in all, nice & clean, but more of an RV park feel to me. For a video of the campground, click on the videos button!

We will come back on our next trip through.

We stayed here for a week. Pros: On the water with a handful of sites backing to the water, full hookups, good AT&T and Verizon signal, short trails, not far from I-10. Cons: terrible water pressure at times (20 psi), not much to do in park itself, wifi was available but usually weak, gunshot type noises to scare the birds that also terrified my dog every day. They had a nice boardwalk over the water and birding was really good. We got a bunch of OTA channels. The staff was really friendly. They have a laundry room, but a sign on the door saying the machines are old and they suggest some laundry mats in the area. Groceries stores and restaurants were 10 minutes away or less. We would stay here again. Some of the sites backing to the water were close together, but our site (54) had good space and I thought it was one of the best sites. The pull throughs are parallel to the road and not private at all.

This is typical of a well managed state campground. Back in, FHU, spacious, water views, accessible, fishing, dog walks - we're just passing through but have a day to do touristy stuff, including USS Alabama. We'll be back. Dinner at Oyster House, close by, was pretty good.

This is definitely a nice state park, but more like an RV park. Everything about it is pretty good (access, paved pads, full hookups, clean bathrooms, laundry facilities) but we are used to being a little more secluded in nature. It's just not as peaceful and serene as some other state parks that we've been to, but the location is great. Only negatives to report are 1. low water pressure at site 2. shower water temp is HOT and can't be adjusted 3. three washing machines and only one (functioning) dryer.

Camp host was very nice and the entire park was so clean! Warned us about alligators but didn’t see any during our stay.
Reception was great for Verizon and AT&T. Most state parks just have water and electricity, this one had full hook ups!
Could have spent all day at the Battleship in Mobile! Close to Publix, Whole Foods, and other shops.
Can’t wait to come back during the summer for a nice vacation!
