The only reason for saying we would not camp here again is we are too tall. A tunnel guards the entrance to the campground. The height is 10’ 3”. We are 11’6”, 😢. We did camp outside under the train trestle for one night. We are a 24’ class C, just barely enough room. The bike ride on the C&O canal tow path is worth the stop. Ride ... more

Stayed 9/3/2020 - $20/night Site 7 Small campground at the end of a dead end road. As you travel towards the end of McCoys Ferry Road, make sure to stay right, as to pass through the tunnel. This is a pretty basic campsite, but it’s right on the Potomac River and right next to the C&O canal trail. The site was fairly level and we backed right up to the river We also biked on the trail (access up on the hill) about 2 1/2 miles to Fort Frederick State Park. It’s worth visiting for an hour.
