Overall Rating

Located in the upper reaches of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, Maidstone State Park sits on a perfectly pristine glacial lake. Sites are adequate size (for a 25' motorhome and 6 person tent with a car) and reasonably private. Most RV sites are flat--ish, we will vouch for site 14.

Dump site with potable water but no hook ups. No cell service unless you ride your bike a mile down the road. And then it's spotty.

Bathroom and shower facilities are well maintained. The showers run around 4 minutes per quarter, I think. Rangers sell wood and ice at the entrance.

Maidstone Lake is crystal clear and reportedly has some prize winning fish in it.
There is a fairly impressive general store/deli/pizza shop in Bloomfield, 10 miles north but it's closed on Monday and Tuesday. A gas station across the river from there in N. Stratford, NH has few supplies other than water and beer.

In August of 2020 the gravel road into the park off route 102 had mostly washboard hill sections. Take it easy on that road; it'll beat your rig up, badly.

If you make the effort to drive there, you'll be very happy you did.
