Overall Rating
We stayed in Red Arroyo CG in 2015 and enjoyed our stay much more then than now. This CG is more remote and away from the main hub of activity. The main bird blind was not as appealing as in 2015. Site was very sloped and many others were the same way. It was quiet and peaceful at night. They feed the Buffalo and Longhorns on Saturday. You can't beat the price for $7.50/night.

Overall Rating
Had the self contained area to ourselves. The hookups campground to the north was 80% full. The Lake is so low it lowers your experience. Only 1 boat on the lake. The lake is now 1/4 mile from the campsites. Mountain biking looked great.

I just received a call from San Angelo State Park ranger and unfortunately, one on their staff has tested positive for COVID-19. They are closing the park today, 6/27/2020 at 5pm for one week. We lost our reservation but hope to stay again in the near future.
