We camped in this beautiful location while on a motorcycle vacation. We wanted to ride the Bear tooth Hwy so this was the perfect spot. This site was just outside of the Basin (pay) campground which is $18 per night, but this site is free. We drove around the national forest looking for free campsites. There's quite a lot of dispersed camping in the area close to red lodge. We found a small dispersed camping area right by basin campground with 3 campsites. Basin campground charges $17 per night for no hookups. We loved our spot nestled underneath the trees.
