Hidden gym for sure. Very tight spots and small campsite. Views for days and peace and quite. A 3 mile dirt road to this site. 9 miles away from a pretty cool downtown red lodge.
Bakerstream would stay here again

First, we never did figure out what brings so many tourists to this area, but, as it were, there were many (tourists). The small town of Red Lodge is quaint and has enough going on to keep even a curmudgeon happy. Yellowstone NP is within 70 miles (probably why all the tourists), and there is abundant fly fishing on the wadable Rock Creek right from town. And they even have a brewery. Yup.
But I digress! The campground. A two mile drive down a secluded gravel road brings you to Sheridan Campground, which is part of the Custer National Forest. Don't be deterred by the Private Property signage about one mile in- the road is indeed public. The grounds are clean, quiet, and beautiful. Sites are level. I believe most of the sites would accommodate smaller trailers (<30ft) and there is a reasonable turn around at the back of the grounds. There aren't many sites but they are reservable.
Bring your bicycles to tootle up and down the gravel roads and bring your camera. The infamous Beartooth Highway starts right down the road so you could go for a drive over to Yellowstone if that's your thing. Surrounding hiking is fantastic.
Epic Detour would stay here again
