The fee is now $15 but with electricity, that’s a bargain. There are picnic tables around and lots of toys if you have kids. No fire pits. Phones and iPad worked fine.
Might be a bit loud if there’s a little league game going on as the fields and bleachers are right outside our door. But we never heard a train!

Came in late and found a spot in the parking loop behind the bathroom building. Read notices about paying $10 fee at the city building, which seemed like a weird system. Train woke us 4 hours later, blowing the horn repeatedly as it began to idle on the tracks right next to the park. It went ahead a little, then backed up. Did this for a solid 30 minutes before we decided to leave. Bathrooms weren’t in great condition either - a plunger was stuck in the men’s toilet to prevent use - and water smelled all kinds of funky.

All taken up and mostly from ppl who stay year round. 2 spots were take from out of towners. So 2 spots I believe are only available to rvers throughout the year. Friday morning an RVer left so we were able to hook up. My kids loved the park and the town was very cute and walking distance. There is a free dump close to the park. Train did come at night once and woke us. Just once. Service t-mobile worked perfectly.

We had no issues staying overnight at this place as we used it for a 1 night stay to break up our long commute West. Easy to find in a small South Dakota town. We were pretty close to other RVs / campers but you can’t it for being free, and everyone we saw was friendly and easy to be around. There’s lots of room for kids to play and to walk your dog. Watch out for lots of flies if you stay right along the water. Bathrooms were decent for being free. We walked to the grocery store and every person in town waved to us — what a treat! Also there is a town tavern called Bud’s within walking distance that had great beer and food. Would stay here again if needed in passing!

We asked someone there about the dump I had read about in other reviews on here but we didn’t see one and the other camper there said she didn’t know of one there. I am sure it is busy on the weekends. Looked very nice, but since it was full we ended up calling and getting a $10 electric only site down the road in Parker where there is a dump. They also have a few $15 full hookup sites in Parker but those were full as well.

All the camp sites were full except for one so we were able to spend the night and left in the morning.
The park is very well maintained and a great place for the community to come together. It’s very nice of them to offer free camping.
We didn’t have a need for the water and electric hook ups but it was nice to have a dumpster to empty trash before we left.
